The immigration question is arguably one of the most crucial questions of the current time. In the USA, there has been a notable movement towards putting in place strict measures to regulate who gains entrance into the country. This anti-immigrant rhetoric has been manifested in the administration’s plans to build a physical barrier – in the form of a wall – between the border of Mexico and the USA. This research study considers the extent to which the erection of such a barrier is likely to jeopardize the American economy by limiting the number of agricultural workers who can enter the country’s borders.
