Fifty years after his wrongful conviction, at the age of 74, Paddy is facing his twilight years and wrestling with a thousand turbulent memories. In ‘Paddy’ he relives the journey that forever altered his destiny.

A one-man show, starring Don Wycherley as Paddy, the play is inspired by Paddy’s memoir, ‘Life After Life’, a Guildford Four Memoir (2017). Don Wycherley brings unflinching honesty, pathos and humour to his portrayal of Paddy, a man failed and scarred by a flawed system yet refusing to be defined by it.

‘Paddy’ is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the power of forgiveness, reminding us that the privilege of freedom and love, family and everyday life can restore us and mend the scars of even the most savage injustice.

JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR H

Wed 10 - Sat 13 Sept | 7.30pm | £20

‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ tells the story of biblical Jesus in the final days leading up to his crucifixion. A rock opera by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, the musical has no spoken dialogue and is sometimes considered a modern rock-opera. Loosely based on the Gospels, ‘Superstar’ focuses on the personal conflicts between Jesus, his disciples, the people of Israel, and the leadership of Rome. Special attention is played to the relationship between Judas Iscariot and Jesus, as well as Jesus’ relationship with Mary Magdalene.

The musical is unique among biblical retellings in that it focuses on both Judas’ struggle making the decision to betray Jesus, and Jesus’ human psychology, fear, and anger in understanding and accepting his role as both leader and martyr. The show is a product of its era, permeated with 1970’s rock, gospel, folk and funk themes, modern language and colloquialisms, and high-energy dance numbers.

107TH CHAMPIONSHIP OF IRELAND BANDS CONTEST H

CUP O’JOE & THE QUA FAMILY

Fri 10 Oct | 8pm | £15 | £5 (under 12)

Cup O’Joe is a progressive bluegrass and folk band founded and based in Northern Ireland by three siblings Tabitha, Benjamin and Reuben Agnew, later joined by Tabitha’s husband David Benedict. Their unique mix of original compositions and re-imagined traditional songs paired with their lively performances has given them a growing presence in the acoustic music scene surrounding Ireland, the UK, Europe, and beyond. Their quartet line-up features tight harmonies, tasteful arrangements, compelling originals and virtuosic solos.

Tabitha Benedict brings her unique style of banjo playing and delicate vocals to the group, which were both recognised by the IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association). Reuben Agnew’s phrenetic guitar breaks, rhythmic drive, and unwavering vocals make him another pillar of this group’s sound.

David Benedict, the newest addition to the group, is a mandolin player of the first order. His leading style of playing is described as “thoughtful, elegant and tastefully complex.” Benjamin Agnew beats out the all-important bass tones and lead vocals - oftentimes giving the impression he wandered on to stage by accident but flawlessly holding the backbone of the music.

But there’s so much you don’t know... father, husband, writer, poet, adventurer, philosopher, soldier, tyrant, egotist, lover, traitor, alchemist, visionary, victim.

ARMAGH THEATRE GROUP PRESENTS

TOXIC RELATIONSHIPS

Fri 31 Oct - Sat 1 Nov | 8pm | £15

As climate catastrophe looms, the impatient Moon informs Earth that humans are doomed and announces its intent to leave, albeit slowly. Desperate, Earth implores Moon to help appeal to humanity, but their cosmic messages only cause humanity to devolve into bickering and denial.

Exasperated, Earth and Moon put humanity on trial, instigating a courtroom drama where Earth questions representatives of different groups.

Each gives their perspective, with Big Oil and Industry denying culpability, Consumer making excuses, and Farmer clinging to tradition before seeing their role. Poverty eloquently testifies to disproportionate climate burdens. The Youth bring hope and call for unity.

Throughout, Moon expresses scepticism that humans are worth saving, while Earth has faith humanity can change. Through razor-sharp satire and earnest pathos, this allegorical play compellingly explores humanity’s denial, then hope of changing course toward sustainability and harmony with nature, if we listen to the voices of the vulnerable and act in time.

A warning and a call to action!

ARDAL O’HANLON: NOT HIMSELF

Thurs 13 Nov | 8pm | £26

After an alarming experience at the supermarket, Ardal reflects on who he is as a man and a comedian. He examines his own ethnic and religious background. And thinks twice about the very core of his identity as a voice of reason. Is everything a big lie?

With no major trauma of his own to draw on for material, apart from the drag of getting older, he also turns his gaze outwards at the joys and follies of contemporary life. Towel Animals? A.I.? Chair Yoga? Cauliflower as a main course? Yes. Yes. Yes. and yes! No current idiocy is left un-examined. With a highly developed sense of the ridiculous, and proper comedy bones, ‘Not Himself’, is a testament to the healing power of humour. And the joy of jokes.

BRIEGE DEVLIN: OUT IN THE COUNTRY

Hold onto your flannel shirts and get ready for a belly-laughing, side-splitting onewoman comedy, that takes you on a wild ride of one woman’s journey to come out as a lesbian in her rural village, late 80’s into the early 90’s.

Through a hilarious whirlwind of characters, Briege navigates a world where the word ‘Lesbian’ sounds as foreign as quinoa. With wit shaper than a mullet haircut, Briege’s journey of selflove, validation and self-acceptance will leave you laughing and rooting for her all the way. Whether you are gay, straight, or just a fan of comfortable shoes, this story of self-discovery in a world of small minds, and even smaller towns, will have you crying tears of joy, and probably a little gay pride too.

BRIGHT PULSE, SWEET DARKNESS HANNAH CLEGG

12 Sept - 1 Nov | Gallery

Hannah Clegg is a visual artist based in Belfast. She understands painting as intuitive, kaleidoscopic prayer. In her practice, it is a threshold unto devotion, intimacy, and contemplative observation, where the spiritual and the emotional meet.

For Hannah, painting directly translates internal narratives into fields of colour; colour is sanctum, womb-like. Painting in many thin layers, she hopes to build up a highly-chromatic, nuanced depth that might be stepped into or through. Hannah is interested in braiding borders: between abstraction and figuration, between the divine and the tangible.

ET CETERA KATHRYN GRAHAM

12 Sept -1 Nov | Foyer Walls

Et Cetera brings together a constellation of works made over the past several years, including pieces from residencies in India and America, alongside new work reflecting on home and memory. Through a multidisciplinary practice spanning print, sculpture, and installation, Graham explores how images shift, echo and endure across time. Drawing on myth, pop culture, and personal narrative, the exhibition considers how symbols become vessels for nostalgia, ambition, and transformation. Et Cetera celebrates the fragments we carry, the stories we tell ourselves, and the moments of transition that shape who we are becoming.

Et Cetera traces the fluid space between the imagined and the remembered, the familiar and the forgotten.

EQUAL KEVIN MCALEENAN

14 Nov 25 - 10 Jan 26 | Gallery

Born in Banbridge, Kevin McAleenan graduated from the University of Ulster in 1985 with a BA in Art & Design. After 15 years as a successful illustrator, he sought a more personal outlet and began painting. These selected works capture moments from his last 25 years as a professional artist.

“It’s an emotional response to Ireland and beyond, everything has its place, cloud, gable end, window, street sign, figure, all of equal value to the eye, all worth seeing”.

Kevin’s work actively shifts between realism and abstraction. The colour flow blocks keep the eye continually engaged - always examining.
