A MESSAGE FROM OUR CHAIRMAN AS WE ENTER OUR 50th YEAR To Our Valued Customers, As we begin our 50th year of business in 2021, we maintain our optimism and a sense of resiliency as a family-owned domestic manufacturer. We realize that all of you had to deal with challenges brought on by the ongoing pandemic—both personally and professionally. When faced with these circumstances, our team did not have all the answers but we looked to our people and we listened, learned and implemented changes in the best interest of our employees and customers.

I am proud of the steadfast commitment of our employees, many who have been with us for over 25 years. Our dedicated team has come together working tirelessly to keep Accurate operating at full production for the entirety of the year.

We maintained our promise to our clients in the same way that we have since 1972, recognizing our employees and their families remain our most important asset.

As I reflect back on the last 50 years, change and evolution have been the constants.

Nothing is more striking than the comparison of the early days with my wife, Joanne, and 3 part time employees serving a few local customers to our current operation with over 100 employees serving thousands of customers around the world with custom and bespoke solutions. The transformation from a small lock shop making products as a sub-contractor for Yale in the 1970s into a company recognized as the worldwide leader in restoration hardware and unique, solution-based products installed on millions of doors around the world leaves me with a great sense of pride. While the equipment has advanced, the employee base has swelled and facility has expanded dramatically, Accurate’s commitment to an unrelenting culture of problem solving has remained the top priority. Believing there is always a way, we are guided by our mantra, “if you can dream it, we can make it”- all right here in Stamford, CT. I wish to extend all of our customers and partners the very best in the New Year. It continues to be an honor to provide leading American-made hardware solutions to best serve your needs.

We have expanded our offering of quick ship products through our RMS ‘Rapid Make and Ship Program’. Our recent expansion has provided additional production space allowing us to continue to make products to order exactly to your specifications available for virtually immediate shipment. Our expanded programs include: Harmon Hinges, Light Duty Pivots, Sliding and Pocket Door Sets, 9100 Series Motor Drive Electrified Locks with a variety of Lever and Trim Options, all available for quick ship to meet your deadlines.

Accurate continues to be the leader in ligature resistant solutions offering the LR-SW Ligature Resistant Swinging Door for use on en-suite bathrooms. The Double Cylinder Confinement Lock is also available for situations where security is paramount and not even a compromised cylinder will prevent access. Our LR-SDS Ligature Resistant Sliding Door System is the only one of its kind and the preferred solution for ligature resistant openings, eliminating many of the common risks associated with swinging doors and freeing up valuable space. Our multiple award-winning Crescent Mortise and Cylindrical Sets remain the industry standard.

To respond to industry needs in the healthcare sector and beyond, Accurate introduces Sterilcoat AM Finish Coating. This range of antimicrobial powder coatings reduces the spread of bacterial and viral spreading micro-organisms. It demonstrates long-lasting functionality due to its controlled release of the active component.

For aesthetic integrity, Accurate introduces Cerakote as an optional finish coating to extend the life of finishes that can tarnish over time. Known as the world’s strongest thin-film ceramic finish used commonly on government firearms, this clear or matte coating provides an extra layer of protection to improve the overall durability, resilience and beauty of door hardware.

The desire for an increased level of security at the door opening.

The Accurate 9100SEC High Security Mortise Lock exceeds the ANSI/BHMA A156.13.2005 standard having the ability to withstand impacts 300X greater than the Grade 1 requirement that is the industry standard. Featuring a solid stainless steel deadbolt with patent pending shock absorption technology, this lock achieves optimal safety without compromising style. For those who have clients looking to upgrade from the Grade 1 9100 Series Mortise Lock, we are offering a program to trade-up for a special price. The Accurate 7200SEC Auxiliary Deadbolt is also available with the same high security deadbolt to provide discreet extra security and the 1912 Urban Deadbolt offers an additional design element.

SmartEntry by Accurate has been recognized as The Hardware Product of the Year by leading industry organizations. Providing ease of use via its proprietary smartphone app, access can be controlled remotely from anywhere in the world. This innovative and elegant solution has been a popular choice amongst the design community due to its flexibility to work with any manufacturers’ trim and its concealed electronics. We will be adopting this same technology to launch the SL-SM9159E sliding door version to offer similar functionality for sliding and pocket door applications.

We continue to invest in our infrastructure, from increased production space to our digital operations and processes, developing a technology focused mindset while honoring the foundation of old-world craftsmanship. In addition to product introductions, we are pleased to announce the launch of a new website coming in 2021. It will feature new and improved product search, filtering and saving options to make the Accurate online experience more efficient and user-friendly.

The desire for touchless entry solutions.

Accurate’s new M9100ELR Electrified Latch Retraction is the first step in this direction. The Motor Drive Electrification technology has advanced to include a small stepper motor inside the mortise lock body that provides a more reliable method of latch retraction when paired with a motion sensor or card reader and enables continuous duty operation. This solution is ideal for commercial, residential and behavioral healthcare applications mitigating the spread of infection by allowing access without grasping any hardware.

The M9100ELR uses Motor Drive Electrification to retract the latch and provide touchless entry when paired with a motion sensor or card reader.

This locking technology can also provide more aesthetic possibilities in some residential applications, as the electric latch retraction essentially eliminates the need for active trim on the exterior. Doors can be outfitted with a simple push plate or decorative pulls to make a minimalistic statement. Homeowners can present a credential (a code in a keypad, fingerprint scan, or key fob for example) and the door will automatically unlatch and provide access without having to physically touch any hardware.

This new offering is ideal for commercial environments featuring poweroperated openings that facilitate accessibility and ADA compliance.

Additionally, adoption of this technology may become more popular as homeowners take extra health and safety precautions that also align with their aesthetic desires.

The M9100ELR Mortise Lock can be paired with ligature resistant hardware for implementation in behavioral healthcare facilities and paired with access control systems. The Ligature Resistant Crescent Handle hardware removes the risk of ligature points while also eliminating the pooling of fluids on top of the handle. Access control allows only authorized personnel to electronically retract the latch and open the door, which can easily be pushed open without touching any hardware.

LR-EX-CH Accurate has adapted the lever side of panic device doors for multiple facilities to remove ligature risks. This design utilizes the patented crescent handle paired with a larger plate that replaces the standard lever/escutcheon on the outside of the opening that improves accessibility and overall strength of the door hardware. This retrofit solution works with most manufacturers’ trim which is reused within the ligature resistant housing.

LR-INEX-VD22 Based on the requests to improve the safety of the panic bar side of the door as well, Accurate developed the Ligature Resistant Panic Bar trim which houses the commonly used Von Duprin 22 Series panic bar. This safety upgrade completes the set and makes the entire opening safer, ligature resistant and appropriate for all risk areas of behavioral healthcare facilities.

This Anti-barricade Heavy Duty Emergency Stop acts as an extra layer of protection against slamming doors in high risk and abusive environments. Installed on the door jamb, it features a key release to ensure authorized outswing of door. This stop is ideal to be used in conjunction with existing double lip strikes, with or without stops, using as many as necessary to meet the required resilience for each door opening.

Designed to be a cost-effective solution that provides increased safety and privacy in the bathroom. This swinging door solution operates without springs, which removes possible ligature points and allows the door to swing in both directions. When pushed open, it stays open at 90° perpendicular to the wall in either direction until it’s pushed closed where it self-centers and remains closed.
