How was your childhood?
I had a really great childhood. I was really good in school, and had lots of friends growing up.
How long have you been HIV-positive?
I was recently diagnosed with HIV in June of 2023.
How did you know you had HIV?
I knew I had HIV after going to a doctor's appointment for a pap-smear.
What’s something you wish people understood about HIV?
Take your medication!
TELL YOUR PARTNER! HIV is not the end of YOUR world. You can live long and healthy as you were before.
What’s one small action people can take to help people living with HIV?
BE KIND! Allow them to talk about their feelings. If you really care about that person show them, tell them.
What’s something you wish you had known before you were diagnosed with HIV?
No matter how in love you are be honest with your partner and use protection!
Who are your biggest advocates?
Everyone at ACCT
How do you practice self-care?
Focus on peace, and positivity. Try not to stress and set a goal for yourself.
How can others show their support for those living with HIV?
Listen to them, and be encouraging. Not self centered.
Is there anything else you’d like to share?
Genuinely love your people living with HIV/AIDS don't judge. To my people living with it, enjoy life. I love you.
How has ACCT helped you in you journey?
ACCT has been a huge support for me. The people there are more than workers, they are amazing and make you feel like family.
What are other programs you would like to see from us?
Additional programs to offer are zoom meetings every once in a while to get more familiar with distant clients.

Please have your appointment details available when contacting the agency to request transportation We are unable to schedule transportation services without an copy of your appointment details. A 48-hour advance notice is required for all requests Matagorda and Brazoria clients needing medical transportation, please try to schedule your appointments late morning or early afternoon Our staff understands that life can present unexpected challenges from time to time, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
Pantry Delivery Program
We are accepting applications for the Pantry Delivery Program! This program was created to provide access to pantry services to our clients with significant barriers to access ACCT for monthly pantry services. Pick up an application at our campus or follow the link below. . The full Pantry Delivery Program launched in November, serving nearly 30 of our most in need clients. A waitlist of eligible clients will be maintained.
