My ultimate watchmaking memory must be when I finished assembling my very first Upside Down movement. It is very rare for a watchmaker to use the famous Maltese Cross mechanism in their movements, because it is very difficult to make sure it functions without blocking.

I didn’t have the challenge of making sure only one Maltese Cross functioned properly; I had 12 of them! I started very slowly with setting the time on this new caliber, and everything worked perfectly for the first Maltese Cross, which felt like a miracle! Thereafter, the second worked and then the third, all the way to the twelfth. I don’t know if it was beginner’s luck or if I had an angel above my bench on that day, but it’s one of the most memorable moments of my watchmaking career
