Mahy. A Family of Cars The Tranquil Beauty of Unique Classic Cars
Michel Mahy, Wouter Rawoens
The Mahy family of Ghent (Belgium) possess one of the largest collections of vintage and classic cars in the world. The 250 most notable cars in the collection are installed at Autoworld in the centre of Brussels, which is the third most attended museum in Belgium. But this represents only part of the collection.
This full-colour book of photographs features, for the first time, the “reserve”: 600 authentic, unrestored classic cars, which are not normally accessible to the public. Fifty of these cars were photographed separately in a specially built studio. A fantastic visual resource for car aficionados, car fanatics, and vintage car collectors.

Porsche 550 Spyder Stefan Bogner, Glen Smale
The 550 Spyder is one of the most exclusive Porsche models of all times and is considered a legendary part of German automobile history. In 1953 Porsche began to build cars especially designed for motorsports, starting with the 1500 RS Spyder, as it was officially called at the time. The sporting successes of the Porsche 550 Spyder are known to all. Until 1957 only around 100 Spyders were built, which makes the car one of the most expensive Porsches today. In this beautiful, slip cased, book, Stefan Bogner captures the classic and pure form of the Spyder and presents some of the rare original models. A separate factbook contains well - and lesser - known information on this groundbreaking sports car.

Often times the cars in this richly illustrated book were lost because the manufacturer ceased to exist, or because they were found on the bottom of Lake Maggiore after 75 years, like the Bugatti Brescia. Among the 50 beauties there are one-offs, concepts, trendsetters, and failures as well as cars of the rich and famous, from Marilyn Monroe to Clark Gable.

Investing in Wristwatches: Rolex
Mara Cappelletti, Osvaldo Patrizzi
Why do we collect? For some, it is a pursuit of pure passion – those who appreciate the wristwatch as an artform: the intricacy of its mechanics, the finesse of its form. Yet for others, collecting is an investment, and a watch’s value is of as much importance as its appearance.
Investing in Wristwatches: Rolex offers detailed insights into the world of authenticating and pricing high-value wristwatches. This publication includes the vast majority of key Rolex models, along with their relevant auction results. These wristwatches excel for a diverse range of reasons, including technical excellence, auction records, design and anecdotal history. A description of each watch is accompanied by its picture, reference and sales values (rights included). A comparative analysis of auction results, compiled through close collaboration with the Sotheby’s auction house, shows, by brand and timepiece, the evolution of prices over time, leading from the Eighties up to the present day. A system to calculate the currency exchange rate at the time of auction sales will also be included in this vital work of reference.

An important new reference for all Rolex lovers and collectors, written by experts and introduced by the Chairman of Sotheby’s International Watch Division.
