Take it Sloth

HOW TO DRAW QUICK THE SLOTH

Would you like to be able to draw little Quick the sloth all on your own? Give it a try in the box below.

CONNECT THE DOTS IN THE IMAGES ABOVE. LOOK! IT’S QUICK! NOW ADD A BIT OF COLOR.

IT’S HARD, HUH? LET’S TRY AGAIN, TOGETHER!

IT’LL TAKE A LITTLE TIME, BUT BY SLOWLY DRAWING ONE SECTION AT A TIME, YOU’LL GET IT!

ANTS AT WORK

While he continues on his journey to the fern, Quick comes across a long line of worker ants. They’re carrying lots of pieces of...what are they carrying exactly? Take a break with Quick and watch them as they build a mysterious mosaic, one piece at a time.

USING THE STICKERS AT THE BACK OF THE BOOK, MATCH THE IMAGE ABOVE TO THE ONE BELOW.

EYES IN THE JUNGLE

Quick feels like he’s being watched as he moves slowly along.

THERE ARE 3 SNAKES AND 3 IGUANAS HIDING IN THIS PART OF THE JUNGLE. THEY’RE WELL CAMOUFLAGED. CAN YOU SPOT THEM? TAKE YOUR TIME.

WHEN YOU FIND THEM, DRAW A BLUE CIRCLE AROUND THE SNAKES AND A RED CIRCLE AROUND THE IGUANAS.

Get a dice, then roll it and move your finger along the board the number of spaces that you rolled.

• Then do what it says in the box.

• If you can’t complete the task, skip a turn. If you’re playing alone, stay put for as long as it takes to trace the outline of one of the fern leaves along the bottom of the page.

DRAWING IN THE SAND

Drawing in the sand is so much fun! Give it a try with Quick and the tapir.

TRACE AND THEN COPY THE SHAPES BELOW USING YOUR FINGERS. PUT A BIT OF FINGER PAINT ON YOUR INDEX FINGER AND DRAW THE LINES. DO YOU KNOW WHICH SHAPES THEY ARE? CAN YOU SAY THEM OUT LOUD?

DID YOU KNOW YOU CAN DRAW IN THE SAND, EVEN AT HOME? PLACE A BIT OF CORNSTARCH ON A TRAY OR PLATE, THEN DRAW WHATEVER YOU WANT IN IT, USING YOUR FINGERS!

ALTERNATE ROUTES

Quick has found a different route that will get him across the river. But it looks long and complicated! The tapir gives up and leaves. But we’re going to give it a try, along with Quick!

GRAB 3 DIFFERENT COLORED PENCILS AND START BY USING THEM TO FILL IN THESE CIRCLES:

MARK THE PATH QUICK HAS TO TAKE TO GET OUT OF THE MAZE. EACH TIME YOU MAKE A MISTAKE, START AGAIN WITH ANOTHER COLOR, USING THEM IN THE ORDER OF THE CIRCLES ABOVE.

WORTH THE WAIT!

wow! Look what Quick found at the end of the maze! Too bad the tapir was so impatient. It really was worth waiting and putting in that little extra bit of effort.

COMPLETE THE PICTURE BY PUTTING THE STICKERS IN THE RIGHT PLACE.
