This chalet is located in the centre of Megève and offers a beautiful view over the mountains. Pierre Emmanuel Martin and Stéphane Garotin (Maison Hand) were consulted from the start of the project by clients with whom they had previously worked. A chalet already existed at this location. It has been completely opened up to be reconstructed using the latest insulation technologies. All openings, façades and the roof have been changed. A spa area has been created in the basement with a swimming pool and hammam in black marble. It can comfortably accommodate around twenty people. Maison Hand decided to install the shared areas (kitchen, living room and dining room) on the top floor to make the most of the view of the mountains. Each room has a bathroom and a terrace or balcony. Pierre Emmanuel and Stéphane preferred warm and luxurious materials such as cashmere for the sofas and curtains as well as the head boards. The staircase is covered in panels of leather and suede to give a feeling of comfort. They used a lot of glass for an effect of greater transparency. They deliberately avoided the 100% mountain style by using contemporary decorative items for a slightly more urban effect. Iconic design pieces complement this division made in collaboration with the clients.
