In 1969, in Paris, the young Kenzo Takada from Japan created the label Jungle Jap, revolutionising fashion history. He borrowed as much from French haute couture as he did from the traditional kimono, boldly mixing traditional clothes, fabrics, shapes and prints from all over the world and developing his own style, the Kenzo style. His success was global. Presenting documents from the designer’s private collection and more than 300 unpublished fashion sketches from the KENZO Society Archives, this book traces the life of Kenzo Takada through the dizzy heights of his creative career.
