In Dream Lovers, Brian Hamill documents John Lennon and Yoko Ono in New York City: stage-side at John Lennon’s final NYC gig; in the couple’s modest new home on Bank Street; out walking the streets of Greenwich Village, hand in hand; and in the iconic Dakota building. Featuring many previously unpublished photographs, and texts by actor Alec Baldwin and writer Pete Hamill, Dream Lovers brings us closer to the real John Lennon and Yoko Ono in their adoptive home city.

The Photographs of Brian Hamill

There wasn’t much that was ordinary about John Lennon. He reached beyond the phenomenal arc of The Beatles, evolving into an artist and activist whose influence still resonates widely today. And yet, in Brian Hamill’s photographs we see John Lennon as he was, and as he wanted to be seen – an ordinary guy, a mere mortal, with Yoko Ono by his side.
