EXCAVATION AND FOUNDATION WORKS
At the initial site walk, prior to any design work, it quickly became apparent that in order for a building to work on such a steep site, a coordinated and well-thought-out approach to excavation and foundation work was essential to the success of the Terrace House. Staged earth moving and temporary shoring with soil nails up to 28 feet in length were the first construction activities required for the home to rise up and step with the land.
