HUNT:
Kahetähendusliku mõiste HUNT alla (eesti k. hunt, inglise k. jaht) paigutab Kadri Mälk oma nüüdisehtekunstikogu. Üksiku hundina pani ta kokku need ehted, olles alati jahil ilu, saladuse ja loovuse järele. Ehteid tuleks kanda ja seetõttu Mälk mitte üksnes ei jäädvusta oma kolleege-kunstnikke, vaid oma portreedel kannavad nad ka isevalitud ehteid. Ehted ärkavad elule kollektsionääri sõprade ja kaaslaste kehal.
KADRI MÄLK
Under the ambiguous term HUNT (English: the hunt; Estonian: the wolf ), Kadri Mälk unites her collection of contemporary art jewellery. As a lone wolf, the Estonian artist and teacher compiled the pieces in her eternal hunt for beauty, mystery and creativity. Since jewellery is designed to be worn, Mälk’s fellow artists are not only immortalised in these works; they also pose in portraits alongside their favourite pieces. The jewellery is thus brought to life on the bodies of the collector’s friends and companions.

Eesti Kunstiakadeemia ehtekunsti eriala juhina on ta andnud kuju tervele Eesti ehtekunsti põlvkonnale. Mälgule tunnuslik esteetika on tume, esoteeriline, poeetiline ja pärit otsekui teisest ilmast. Üks tema kirgi on ehete kollektsioneerimine.

As the head of the jewellery department at the Estonian Academy of Arts, she has shaped a generation of Estonian jewellery artists. Mälk’s signature aesthetic is dark, esoteric, poetic and otherworldly. One of her passions is collecting jewellery.
