Although designer Yves Saint Laurent operated his fashion house in Paris, he had a long love affair with Marrakech. The city is home to Musée Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech and its beautiful YSL Bookshop. The store draws inspiration from the designer’s Rive Gauche ready-to-wear boutique, which opened in 1966 with a striking design by architect Isabelle Hebey. Find books related to Morocco, fashion and the designer in this sophisticated space, which features oxblood walls, lacquered displays and lanterns by Isamu Noguchi. The store also stocks books and films that inspired Saint Laurent, such as works by Visconti and Proust.
