Cause        

Expired Pervasive License key Expired Anti-Virus Damaged files Pervasive 9.1 and its analyzer are still installed The DNS servers are provided by the ISP and are returning 127.0.53.53 for internal network computers Domain Name System (DNS) isn't working Anti-virus Firewall blocking Pervasive must be restarted

Resolution Error: "Your activation key for Sage 50 has expired Section I: Temporary Pervasive License key has expired  Close Sage 50  Open Computer  Browse to program path. Follow Article ID 10165: the way to find data path and program path  Run SageReg.exe  Select Key Status tab  Click Check Key State button

   

If a Permanent key's found within the License Type column, stop here. Otherwise, still step 8.

Click Sage 50 Activation tab Click the Activate button.

When instructed, close the Activation window(s) and launch Sage 50 to finish the Activation

NOTE: If, in SageReg, there's previous date where the Pervasive key has expired, changing the system date to before that date, then removing CLIENTINFO.XML from the info path will allow you to reactivate manually once in Sage. See Article ID 10818: How do I manually activate program or manually register the payroll service? to manually reactivate. After the software is activated, change the system go back to the present date.

Section II: Anti-Virus blocking the activation process  Uninstall the expired Anti-Virus or renew the subscription plan  Verify that Sage 50—U.S. Edition will now activate and open Section III: Damaged files  Close Sage 50  Open Computer  Browse to the info path. Follow Article ID 10165 the way to find data path and program path  Delete the subsequent files:  Serial.dat  Serial.dat.bak  Options.dat  Clientinfo.xml  Reopen Sage 50  Verify the program can now activate successfully; if the error continues, proceed to subsequent section.

Section IV: Damaged Actian/Pervasive Installation  Close Sage 50  Try restarting Pervasive before uninstalling it; see Article ID 10281: the way to stop or start the Actian / Pervasive service .  Remove any installed version of Pervasive; see Article ID 11814: the way to completely remove and reinstall Pervasive/Actian  Open Sage 50  Verify the program can now activate successfully; if the error continues, proceed to subsequent section  Click for more info- Your Activation Key For Sage 50 Has Expired Section V: Damaged Sage 50 Files  Close Sage 50  Uninstall Sage 50. Open Sage 50 Verify the program can now activate successfully; if the error continues after these steps, call Sage Support at 866-747-3888 for further assistance.

Section VI. Pervasive 9.1 and its analyzer are still installed  Close Sage 50  Remove any installed version of Pervasive.
