I believe with all of my heart that we are living in the season of Israel’s salvation. God promised us in Ezekiel 36 that first He would bring the Jewish people back physically to our land, then He would soften our hearts, and finally He would pour out his Holy Spirit on us. I can say unequivocally that the first two steps are happening. The Jewish people are back in the land of Israel, and hearts are more ready to receive the Good News than ever. Recent world events have only strengthened our belief that NOW is a time to press forward. As God begins to hasten the prophetic timeline leading to Yeshua’s return, the world’s attention will be drawn more and more to this astounding little nation in the center of the earth. Now is the time that God has destined for all things to be fulfilled as the Gospel returns to His chosen people in power - and you have a pivotal role to play!

In God’s wisdom, He has called for all believers, both Jew and Gentile, to partner together to see the salvation of Israel, as this will lead to life after death for the entire world (Rom. 11). You can be a part of this incredible prophetic destiny through your partnership with the redemptive mission of HaTikva Project.

our story

A LETTER FROM EVAN

Evan Levine, executive director of HaTikva Project, was born in the Jewish community in Kansas City and grew up with a genuine love for God and a hunger to connect with Him but couldn’t find a way to draw closer. Yeshua revealed Himself to Evan at the age of 12, and from then on he had a burning passion to see his people reached with the Gospel. During his time serving in Jewish ministry in various capacities, he developed a sense of calling to be a part of the physical and spiritual restoration of the Nation of Israel. In 2009, Evan and his wife Elisa were sent out by Promise Keepers to develop HaTikva Project in Israel. Their family has since flourished in Israel by God’s grace, and HaTikva Project has grown to be an independent ministry incorporated in both America and Israel.

HaTikva Dental HaTikva Project operates the first and only non-profit, Messianic Jewish dental clinics in all of Israel, with clinics in Jerusalem and Haifa. Our generous partners make it possible to provide high-quality dental care for those in need by subsidizing the cost. Our clinics are 100% staffed by believers who are trained dental professionals, and every patient is presented with an opportunity to hear more about the Gospel.

The primary barrier to adoption in Israel is the “religious matching” clause.

Adoption is only permitted within each religion, meaning—a Christian can only adopt a Christian child, a Jew only a Jewish child, etc. The systems in place for family-based care are inadequate—lack of foster families, funding, and social workers perpetuate this gap.

We believe that caring for orphans and vulnerable children is a mandate for the global Body of Messiah, and one of the purest expressions of the Gospel. HaTikva Families equips families to respond to the OVC (orphan and vulnerable child) crisis in Israel through adoption and foster care and encourages the Israeli Body of Messiah to take a leading role in this effort.

Of the over 10,000 children removed from their homes by the Ministry of Welfare, only 25% are in foster care. The other 75% are housed in institutions. Israel has a history of institutional/communal childcare, dating back to its founding, with commune-like living (kibbutzim). The cultural norm has been to place children into institutions to receive government program care. Only in recent years has the country encouraged more family-based care, and to date, only 20 emergency shelter foster homes exist in all of Israel. The first, and only, Messianic shelter home is HaTikva House.

your gifts provided: HaTikva House was created to be a safe haven that receives at-risk children any day, at any hour. A believing family lives in the home and is ready to provide a first landing spot for children in crisis. When they arrive, they will often be scared, unsure, and traumatized. We want them to know this sweet place of love and safety is because of God’s care for them. Working with one of Israel’s leading foster agencies, HaTikva House is going through final approval processes to begin receiving children.

Reut VaTikva

HaTikva Aid practices the pure and undefiled religion of James 1:27 by meeting the needs of the vulnerable through direct financial support, meeting of day-to-day needs, and wrap-around companionship and care for the lonely and widowed. We help Israeli believers who are experiencing a financial crisis by pairing financial aid with the support of local congregations and financial counselors. Targeted programs meet the needs of Holocaust survivors and widows, single mothers, and families experiencing extreme financial hardship throughout the nation of Israel.

Reut VaTikva (translated “hope and companionship”) launched in June 2021. Elderly widows experience the joy and relief of hot meals delivered by a warm and loving HaTikva volunteer in the name of Yeshua.

HaTikva teams accompany them to medical and dental appointments, take them shopping, and offer true companionship. It is our great joy to display the love and hope of Yeshua to these precious survivors and widows.

Dental

Era, a Holocaust survivor whose husband passed away many years ago, has many health issues and is confined to a wheel chair. Previously, she had a terrible experience with a dentist who extracted all of her teeth which then led to her developing an infection so bad she was hospitalized.

After receiving her new dentures from the HaTikva clinic, she was so thankful that not only could she eat without pain, but she had such a positive experience! She was so touched by the personal and caring treatment of everyone at the HaTikva Dental clinic.

Families

The Ronen family has two teenage daughters who joined their family through adoption. The parents are facing many challenges as the girls navigate through their teenage years and reached out to HaTikva Families for support.

In addition to relational and training support, HaTikva Families provides them with monthly financial assistance to cover the cost of art therapy and part of the cost of a special education teacher for one of their daughters who struggles with learning disabilities and psychological issues.

The parents wrote, “Thank you all at HaTikva Families for this wonderful help. Our daughters and us will always be most grateful for the impact you have had in their lives.”

Aid

COVID-19 has caused thousands to struggle financially throughout Israel. HaTikva Aid has stepped in to help care for many. One single mother in Jerusalem was recently abandoned by her husband and was already struggling to support herself and her children.

She had outstanding debt before the shutdown, and then lost her job leading to an even more difficult financial situation.

HaTikva Aid stepped in to help pay off some of the debt and provide support to get her back on her feet.

This is just one of many stories demonstrating how HaTikva Aid has stepped in to help single mothers throughout Israel.
