CARE CARE IN IN TIMES TIMES OF OF NEED NEED The employees at Sara Lee Frozen Bakery genuinely enjoy the chaplain’s presence and look forward to seeing him each week. Many employees actively seek the chaplain out on the days he visits. As the chaplain continues to build caring relationships, the dividends are changed lives, higher morale and well-adjusted employees.

One example of the chaplain being able to encourage and comfort an employee comes from a situation where an employee was overwhelmed regarding his spouse’s health. The employee needed someone to help him work

the many feelings that accompany the grief process. The employee also needed assistance in making preparations for the eventual death of the loved one. The chaplain was there to care for the employee throughout the journey from sickness to death. The employee has mentioned many times that he really appreciated having someone to talk to who understood grief and could console and advise him. The employee was grateful they did not have to take the grief journey alone but instead had a loving and listening chaplain who helped the employee understand and navigate the grief process.
