Our team of Converge global workers has created an effective and efficient system that combines language and culture l e a r n i n g i n To g o . W h i l e historically most global workers t o F r a n c o p h o n e We s t Af r i c a learned French in France, Switzerland, or Canada, we have found that it is possible to s u c c e s s f u l l y l e a r n i n a We s t African context, and that it is beneficial to do so. To a s s e s s t h e p r o g r e s s o f o u r participants, we refer to the Common European Framework of References for Languages (CEFR), which places each person on a spectrum from Level A0 (no prior exposure to the language) to Level C2 (fluent). We f o l l o w a s e r i e s o f t e x t b o o k s with activities that align with this framework, and we have trained our tutors to follow the curriculum as well. It is estimated to take 1,000 hours to go from level A0 to the end of level B2.
