CORPORATE CHAPLAINS OF AMERICA AWARDS “10:27” SCHOLARSHIP TO MOBILE, AL’S MORGAN McGEHEE

Corporate Chaplains of America (CCA) has announced that Morgan McGehee (pictured right) from Mobile, Alabama has been awarded the organization’s “10:27” Scholarship. Morgan graduated from high school on May 14, 2019. She plans to begin college at Samford University in the fall of 2019 where she looks forward to majoring in Nutrition and Dietetics. She is the daughter of Todd and Laura McGehee. Her father has served as a chaplain with CCA since February 2014. CCA’s “10:27” Scholarship – a grant of $2,500 – is awarded to a student who has shown dedicated commitment to the command to love God and others as laid out in Luke 10:27. It is also intended to be a blessing to a CCA chaplain by helping to provide for the cost of their children’s higher education. Jesus says in Luke 10:27, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and love your neighbor as yourself.” Morgan’s faith has been an important part of her life since she was little. She has memories of her grandfather teaching her to pray constantly, seek wisdom and read God’s word daily from a young age. Her grandmother also encouraged her to lean on Christ when anxiety would overcome her. These relationships were the foundation of her faith and helped her when she would face trials later in her life. She has seen the faithfulness of God in tempting times. This has strengthened her relationship with God. The “10:27” Scholarship is open for dependent children of full-time CCA chaplains. Students must be US residents in their final year of high school or actively enrolled on a full-time basis and in good standing in an accredited community college or 4-year institution. Scholarships are one-time awards.
