LIFE-CHANGING CARE
CARE IN TIMES OF NEED As the chaplain made rounds focusing on building caring relationships, he noticed that an employee he knew well looked sad, and the chaplain gained permission to talk through the details of what was weighing the employee down. After listening to the employee, the chaplain gained permission to speak about the financial turmoil and lack of peace the employee was experiencing from a spiritual perspective. The employee was ready to receive help with the struggles and stresses of life that were completely overwhelming him. Although the chaplain had shared the Gospel in the past, he sensed that something was different this time and he walked the employee step by step through the Gospel and explained how he could have peace with God. The employee agreed to
pray with the chaplain, and he surrendered his life to Christ. The employee was so excited and immediately asked what the next steps should be. The chaplain gladly provided a Bible and some discipleship materials and encouraged him to find a church home. The employee even asked the chaplain to meet his family to help tell them about the most important decision of his life. When the family heard the great news, they cried tears of joy because they had been praying for him for a long time. The chaplain also helped the family create a budget to help with the financial stress they were experiencing. Over time, the chaplain helped the new believer learn to read his Bible and follow through with his baptism. Now the whole family goes to church together, and there is great joy in their home!
