OUR MISSION We Care Foster Care provides children in foster care and the child protection system with programs, community-connected resources, and unique opportunities they need to thrive.

OUR PHILOSOPHY We Care Foster Care believes in the human desire to give generously and to support the work of caring for all children in foster care and the child protection system. We believe that each one of us can make a difference in the life of a child. Just imagine the unlimited power that could be harnessed if everyone donated time, talent, and treasure to help just one child in need.

We believe that this power benefits not only the child it directly impacts, but also their future generations

THE STARFISH STORY

One day, a man was walking along a beach when he noticed a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean. Approaching the boy, he asked, “What are you doing?”

HOW IT WORKS We Care utilizes community and professional contacts to identify individuals and organizations who are willing to donate goods or services.

We seek and obtain commitments from volunteers and businesses willing to address the specific needs of children in foster care and the child protection system. We Care then serves as a clearinghouse to match those willing to offer their time, talents, or merchandise to children identified as needing such assistance.

Examples of how you can get involved: Dentists agree to perform free dental care for one child each year. Psychologists provide pro bono services for one family each year. Dance schools give free lessons to a child.

Radio stations and support teams provide free tickets to various events. Bowling alleys and restaurants sponsor special events for deserving children. Businesses provide needed goods. Concerned individuals mentor a child, coach a team, help someone learn to read, teach a child to draw, and provide music lessons.

The possibilities are endless.

D O N AT E G O O D S Foster care families are always in need of such thing as clothing, luggage, school supplies, househould items, toys, and games. If you need it to raise a child, we need it.
