NORDIC-BALTIC

SWEDEN/NORWAY/FINLAND/ESTONIA\/LATVIA/LITHUANIA

The Nordic-Baltic Initiative is a work that began in 2010 to reach the under-reached nations of Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. In each of these countries, less than 2% of the population claim to be evangelical. In 2011, Estonia was reported by the BBC as, “the least religious country in the world.” A staggering 86% of the people in Estonia are professed atheists. The difficulty is the hardness of hearts in the Nordic-Baltic.

But, there is hope and momentum in the region! Converge has been working to develop strategic partnerships in each of these nations and has already built relationships with the Baptist presidents in five of the seven countries. Currently, Converge churches are working with the New Life Church network in Stockholm, the Baltic Pastoral Institute in Latvia, and the Baptist Union and Josiah Venture in Estonia. We have planted two new churches in Stockholm, three in Latvia, and five in Estonia.

POLAND/CZECH REPUBLIC/SLOVAKIA

In the 15:5 West Initiative, we are asking God for a gospel movement among the 15 largest cities in Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia that will also plant gospel communities in at least five unreached villages around each of these cities. Currently, many of the major cities in this region of the world have populations that are less than 1% evangelical. We desire to see this can change.

We believe that God has ordained the times and boundaries of men in every place at all time. This means that in the cities of which we live, every relationship that exists between neighbors, friends, coworkers and classmates is ordained by God and channels through which the gospel of the kingdom can spread. Our hope is to see the gospel move through the incredible relational networks that exists in these cities transforming individuals, communities and ultimately the city itself. Would you join with us?
