I visited Dringhouses cemetery with fellow art and York College students advocates Niall, Rowan, Hope, and Dylan. It is a peaceful and contemplative cemetary. The Terry family have their resting place here. We visited Goddards House and Garden and relaxed. Greg went to St Edward’s coffee morning to talk through potential ideas with Reverend Richard Carew. A lot of ideas were generated on all counts. Should we go for a parish magazine? Should we think about projections/ What about a permanent work of art?
What soon became clear was that there’s already an existing parish magazine, the excellent ‘Porch’ (I’ve subscribed). We thought rather than muddy the waters, this was an opportunity to build on the good works already done by Porch as well by local citizen, Dorothy Reed who holds monthly Dringhouses Memories. The team put our heads together and we generated a few artistic ideas on what would look great, both physically and digitally, based on local figures, stories, memories, and hopes.
