Angels of Guildhall: the ward’s priorities were turned into Manga illustrations of angels with aspirational speech bubbles and Guildhall ward friendly slogans on feathers to fit into a communal collaborative work of art based on Angels’ Wings as a response to fellow UNESCO City of Media Arts member Viborg’s brief: ‘Who raises YOU up? Who is your Angel of Hope’? We ran art activities at Haxby Road Primary and at after school St Wilfrids sessions, with some focus on combatting anti-social behaviour by watching out for each other and taking walks rather than relying on cars. We employed Guildhall based children as paid art advocates for our award winning Art Camp sessions across the city.
As well as forthcoming local exhibitions in Guildhall venues including York St John and York Elim Pentecostal Church, all work was digitally displayed in Denmark’s Viborg, who provided the initial brief to fellow UNESCO Cities of Media Arts, ‘Angels of Hope.’ It will also be exhibited in York city centre’s heritage hotspot, Ba
