Principal’s Message
Dear Parents and Students, Welcome to Union Park Middle School. The voyage you are about to embark on will be filled with outstanding academic and exploratory opportunities, but will only be truly fulfilled by the strength of your character, imagination, and organization. Anyone setting out on a voyage or trip uses various tools to successfully accomplish that journey. In order to reach your intended destination, the successful completion of middle school, we are providing a student-parent guide as one of your tools. Like any tool, how you utilize it will be the critical factor in your success. This guide will allow you to organize your schoolwork, prioritize your activities, track your academic progress and even remind yourself of personal items such as birthdays and family events. As adults, we all have a system for staying organized, and as young adults you, too, must develop a meaningful system to track your responsibilities. This tool is just a part of helping you to be successful here at Union Park Middle School. Another part of your success at Union Park Middle School is clear direction for your journey. In the guide you will find the student handbook. These pages should be considered a roadmap of rules to successfully navigate the expectations of your Union Park teachers, staff, and administration. While it is impossible to list every rule, it is vital to recognize that high expectations are in place for all students who come to Union Park Middle School. As a student you are expected to conduct yourself as a positive and responsible member of your family, your school, and larger community. Union Park Middle School also has a responsibility to you, our student. We will provide the environment in which you are able to succeed and in return ask you to strive for your personal best every day. That commitment to excellence is what will make your voyage here at Union Park Middle the most successful one ever. Please join us at our Student Orientation on August 14, 2014 from 4:30 – 6:30 pm. You will receive your child’s schedule, meet the teachers and tour the school. Again, welcome to Union Park Middle School. We know that together we can accomplish all of your goals and make this year the best! Cualquier persona que se embarca en un viaje necesita varias herramientas para lograr su viaje. Para poder llegar a su destino correcto, el completar exitosamente los años de Escuela Intermedia, les proveeremos agendas como una de esas herramientas. Como cualquier herramienta, como tú la utilices será el factor crítico para tu éxito. Esta agenda te ayudara a organizar tu trabajo escolar, darle prioridad a tus actividades, estar al tanto de tu progreso académico y hasta recordarte a ti mismo de cosas personales como cumpleaños y eventos familiares.
