ACADEMY OF OUR LADY OF PEACE
PROFILE Mission Statement
Founded and rooted in the Gospel values of the Catholic church and the charism of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, the Academy of Our Lady of Peace empowers young women in an innovative learning environment that honors the individual while fostering community, and develops faith-filled leaders dedicated to the “love of God and the dear neighbor without distinction.” ABOUT US
The Academy of Our Lady of Peace (OLP) is a Catholic, college-preparatory school for girls sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. OLP has been educating women since 1882 and is fully accredited by the Western Catholic Education Association (WCEA) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). The Class of 2026 graduated 177 students. Total enrollment is 710 students and the faculty to student ratio is 1:16. OLP takes pride in its diverse student body, which greatly enriches our academic environment. Our community includes a significant bi-national population, with approximately 12% of students commuting daily from Baja California, Mexico. The ethnic composition of our student body reflects local diversity: 33.33% European American, 42.66% Hispanic/Latina, 5.9% Asian/Filipino, 8.05% Multi-racial/Other, 1.4% African American, and 1% Pacific Islander/Native Hawaiian. Notably, over the past three years, approximately 23% of our graduates have been first-generation college students. This diversity not only creates a dynamic learning atmosphere but also prepares our students to thrive in an increasingly interconnected global society.

AP Testing Policy: Students enrolled in AP courses are strongly encouraged to take the AP exams, but not required.
Class of 2026 GPA Profile CLASS RANK STATEMENT Due to the selectivity of the admissions process, the challenging nature of OLP’s curriculum, and the high academic caliber of the student body, the cumulative weighted average is regarded as the most signicant indicator of student performance. Thus, OLP does not rank students.

Service Learning Serving “our dear neighbor without distinction” is at the heart of the CSJ mission and, therefore, also the heart of the OLP mission.OLP does not require mandatory service hours as part of OLP graduation requirements. This philosophy encourages and celebrates the thriving culture of service that flourishes at OLP. We firmly believe that students are motivated to serve others through an authentic spirit of compassion and a desire to engage with our dear neighbors, both locally and globally.
