Sisters of St. Joseph Mural in Navarra Hall During a year in which many could become overwhelmed with the darkness surrounding us, it is the light of the OLP community that shines most brilliantly here at our Villa Montemar campus. The community of this amazing institution, inclusive of parents, alumnae, faculty, staff, Board of Directors, and friends, has once again come together to provide support for our annual fund, encouragement and prayers to those in need, all to ensure students at the Academy of Our Lady of Peace can be “all of which woman is capable.” Not a day goes by when the students at OLP are not reminded that they are loved! Upon entering our newly-renovated Navarra Hall, one finds the installation of the mural dedicated to our Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. This mural epitomizes the strength and resilience of our founders and sheds light on our charism of “unifying love” that has carried us through these notable moments in history. A light, donated by architect David Pfeifer and his wife Azucena, illuminates the quote on the mural, “Uncommon Women for an Uncommon Time.” As we look back on 2020, what an uncommon time it has been. While the hardships of this past year illuminated the struggles of many, the light of love and compassion from within the OLP community shone bright! Our community came together to complete construction of Phase I of our capital campaign project, Boundless: The Campaign for OLP, allowing us the space necessary to safely reopen our campus while navigating COVID-19 safety protocols. Synchronously, through fundraising events, corporate giving, foundation support, special appeals, and additional sponsorships, we raised $527,946 in annual giving during the 2019-2020 fiscal year. These funds were used to enhance OLP’s academic programs, provide scholarships to students in need, and support our clubs, co-curricular programs, and athletics. Furthermore, our participation in #GivingTuesdayNow reflected our community’s ability to link arms, providing support during this historic time, mitigating the emergent needs that resulted from COVID-19 for our students and families while also having the foresight to invest in the education of our girls. The support from our OLP community is powerful, essential, has an immediate impact on our students’ experiences and the trajectory of their life. We know unequivocally that an OLP education is transformative. It is because of each and every one of our donors that we have been able to provide, for 138-years, such a vibrant, life-giving educational experience. To each and every donor, thank you, for all you do! You are loved!

OLP is a school filled with community spirit, treasured traditions and a faculty, staff and administration dedicated to the mission of educating young women and empowering them to be tomorrow’s leaders. The board and administrative team are implementing strategic investments in OLP. These include classroom technology, STEAM programs, preservation of our historic campus and providing the most current tools for our girls to learn.
Many don’t realize that OLP does not receive any funding from the Diocese, any parish or state or local government. We rely on support from OLP families, alumnae and businesses in the community to make these investments. We ask that you help us continue to propel these initiatives forward by making a meaningful investment in OLP. Gifts of all sizes are needed and greatly appreciated! CASH GIFTS: Cash contributions, whether by check, credit card or electronic transfer are the easiest way for most donors to support OLP. PLEDGES: OLP gratefully accepts pledges - a promise to make a gift over an agreed-upon period of time. This often allows donors to commit to a larger amount than they might be able to give at one time.

STOCKS & BONDS: Stocks and bonds can be a strategic way to maximize tax benefits, and often help to minimize capital gains taxes. Donors receive the fair market value of the stock on that day that it is transferred. Please consult your tax advisor or broker for full benefits or to facilitate this type of donation. REAL ESTATE: Donations of real estate (home, vacation property, condominium, apartment complex, undeveloped land or other real estate) will be considered on a case-bycase basis in accordance with board policies. LIFE INSURANCE: Donors often have paid-up life insurance policies that are no longer needed for their original purpose. These policies may be transferred to OLP. The donor is entitled to a tax-deduction for the case surrender value. Please discuss this option with your insurance agent or financial advisor. WILLS, TRUSTS AND PLANNED GIVING: Including OLP in your estate plans can have a transformative impact on OLP. Inclusion in your will can be made by designating a specific amount to the school; by designating that a percentage of your estate be directed to the school; or that the “remainder” portion of your estate be directed to the school.

Boundless Ambassadors at the 2020 Gala
Boundless: The Campaign for OLP has been an amazing journey dedicated to creating a campus for the next generation of OLP students while actively preserving our historical architecture. The capital projects have been over 15 years in the making, as OLP secured a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) and underwent an extensive strategic planning process led by a robust community of staff and volunteers.
