“Ren” derives from Mandarin, meaning people. Company REN delves into an open journey to find the authentic version of ‘you’ We are curious to see what shifts our individuality when in relation to others
There is no you without others and no you without the space that holds you. Thus, Company REN considers the relationship with other bodies that share the same space as you. A space that is also bound by the 4 elements: air, water, fire and earth.
The audience will experience how humanity thrives through relationships and connections with others. We explore the complexity of what it means to be human, living alongside the chaos and unpredictability of the 4 elements. Within all aspects of human life, the elements exist and are intertwined within our lives. However, can humanity and the elements coexist? Will one ultimately cause the destruction of the other? Focusing on themes surrounding collectivism, individuality, and childlike playfulness, we hope to shine a light on what it means to be human, whilst being subject to the uncontrollable power of the elements.
