2026 THE YEAR OF RECORD RECOVERIES

OCTOBER 2026 EDITION

Editor’s Note

A friend of mine once told me about her secondary school experience. She said she had a wonderful time in school simply because she attended the same school as her brother. Her brother was a popular football player, and because of his popularity, she enjoyed all kinds of favours and was protected from bullies. You too have help available at all times because of the Holy Spirit who lives inside you. Scripture tells us, “Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.” (1 John 4:4). The question is: do you truly believe it? The Lord sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to reconcile the world to Himself, thereby giving everyone who believes in Him access to the Father. After Jesus physically left this world , He sent the Holy Spirit to indwell you. Think about what this means: you can draw strength from within at any time because the Lord lives in you.

Salvation is an introduction to a new way of life. It is about learning to live from the reality of who you have become now that you are in Christ. Scripture says, “Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Romans 12:2). "Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing” (John15:4,5 NIV) Here Christ paints a picture of who you become when you remain in Him. First of all, you are in Christ—so remain in Him. In Him, you are unshakable. Imagine it is raining heavily and you are sitting inside a car. You would have no reason to worry about getting wet, would you? You are protected because you are inside the car. The only way you would be exposed to the rain is if you stepped outside. In the same way, you are in Christ – who defeated death, overcame the world, inherited all power in heaven and earth, and in whom are inexhaustible riches. Child of God, you are covered; walk in this new life and let go of any limiting beliefs. Learn to live from the truth of who you are in Christ. You have no cause to be anxious about anything in life. Hold on to this understanding and you will be like Mount Zion, that can’t be moved. Embrace the new life. As you read this edition, may you be reminded of your identity in Christ and stirred up to live from the strength of the One who lives within you. FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK

KINGDOM CITIZENSHIP AND COLONIES Part II This October 2026, our country celebrates 64 years of independence from Britain, its colonial power. This is a welcome milestone because independence and freedom are supposed to go hand-in-hand. Indeed, Uganda has come a long way in taking responsibility for her development. While the impacts and legacy of colonial rule remain a subject of national debate, it is clear that there are lessons to be learned from it. The short of it is that colonization has a very practical meaning: infusing a society with the language, laws, values, fashion and foods of the colonial power or parent state. It is the British dimensions of these things that have remained with us, Ugandans, as the legacy of British rule. For example, English remains our official language, our parliamentary procedures continue to follow British political traditions, British fashion and foods such as suits and bread respectively remain visible in the lifestyle of the elite in our society. In part I of this article, we understood that we are divine colonialist sent on earth to establish a colony of heaven (Ephesian 2:12,19). As citizens of the Kingdom of God and ambassadors of the same, we have a mandate to expand the kingdom of God – peace, joy and righteousness – on the whole earth (Romans 14:17). How? By infusing our colonies – your country and culture – with the language, laws and values of heaven; “…teaching them to observe all things whatsoever [Jesus has] commanded you” (Matthew 28:20) The Great Commission, therefore, begins with us knowing what is heavenly about us that is uncommon in our country and culture. It is these uncommon things about us that we are called to introduce and infuse our neighbours with (1 Corinthians 10:13). It begins with us knowing and living as those born from above – the healed and blessed of the Lord, the head and not the tail, fearless, debt-free and graceful – who are victorious over this world because greater is He that is in us than he that is at work in the world (1 John 4:4; 5:4). When our lives are a demonstration of abundant life - living free and far from the contradictions and constraints that limit and oppress people in their everyday lives – our neighbours will have reason to think twice and reconsider switching cultures. We are not called to go and find fault in the world but rather to exhibit a higher and better way of living that is only available in Christ (John 10:10, Matthew 11:28−30). The world is not hungry for religion; and they careless about it. What they are looking for, and cannot do without is freedom – the wisdom and power to escape the fear and torment of everyday pressures arising from the lack of identity and inability to meet their needs. Heaven offers them answers to these pressures; and we are the ambassadors of heaven in places where these people live. So, go and colonize them with heaven.

BELIEVING: The Foundation and Anchor of Faith This brings us to the phenomenal story of a man whose encounter with Jesus teaches us the importance of believing. The man had brought his son to Jesus because the child was suffering terribly. In desperation, he said to Jesus: “…But if You can do anything, have com-

passion on us and help us.” Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” (Mark 9:22–24 KJV) Notice the man's first words: “If You can

The Word of God is the foundation and anchor of our faith. As believers, it is not enough to simply confess what God has said; we must first believe it in our hearts. Our confession becomes firm, consistent and effective when it flows from a heart that is truly convinced of God’s Word.

do anything…” His uncertainty was not about whether there was a need; he was uncertain about whether Jesus could meet that need. Yet Jesus redirected the responsibility back to him: “If you can believe, all things are possible to him that believes.”

According to Scripture, “we have the same

Many times, we approach God in the same

way. We may say, “Lord, if You can…” then silently wonder, “Will the Lord really do this?” We know what His Word says, yet our hearts may still struggle to become fully persuaded. Jesus' response to this man speaks to us today: If you can believe, all things are possible to him that believes.”

Spirit of faith that is described in the Scriptures when it says, ‘First I believed, then I spoke in faith.’ So we also first believe then speak in faith.” (2 Corinthians 4:13 TPT) Believing must precede speaking. Before

we confess anything, we must first believe it. Otherwise, our confession can easily become mere words.

If you find a deficiency in your belief, take

some time like the man in Mark 9:22-24, to say this prayer from the depth of your heart: “Lord I believe, strengthen me by your Spirit.” Take time in the word of God because therein lies power to help you believe. Remember, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

For example, before confessing, “I am the

head and not the tail” do you actually believe it from the depths of your heart? Or does that confession disappear when circumstances suggest otherwise? True faith is not merely saying what God has said; it is becoming convinced of what He has said, even when what you see in the natural appears to contradict it.

I encourage you to be so convinced about

what you believe. Arthur MWESIGWA

ƌe s Ƣ i mon i e ơ Kira, Nakawa|Passy sought God for a business idea to broaden her streams of income. In April this year an idea came to mind. She continued in prayer for direction, knowledge and the right people. One day she moved in town inquiring from strangers about where to get particular items. About three people pointed her to a certain shop. She got there but found it closed. While there, she heard in her spirit a leading to the shop adjacent to where she was. There was a man seated in a small office. This man gave her all the information she needed and guided her on how to start the business. Passy didn’t have capital but petitioned heaven again. One morning she felt led to speak with someone. She proceeded and booked an appointment with them. On reaching, she shared her plans with the person, and he asked her how much she would need to start. Right there, he counted out half the amount of money she indicated and gave it to her, saying, "You have my blessing." Passy started her business; and has experienced favour with her suppliers. Her business is four months old and counting . She thanks the Lord for guiding her every step. Glory be to His Name. Makindye, Ndejje| Josephine was running errands when a friend noticed she was bleeding and rushed her to the hospital. While there, Josphine realized that she had heavy cramps, which were not ordinary. Before long, she fainted but regained consciousness. She felt so weak, as if life was slowly slipping away. The hospital quickly referred her to a higher grade hospital, where she was taken and immediately put on oxygen as they ran tests on her. At this time Josephine had fainted over 15 times. Doctors were gathered around her to examine what could be causing this. They discovered she had an acute bacterial infection, ulcers, anemia, and low blood pressure. When her friend saw the results, he was overwhelmed and left the room completely hopeless and downcast. His reaction caught Josephine's attention. Josephine didn’t understand the result but perceived they were bad. At this point, she attempted to get up from the bed and began to pray. Her mother and sister walked in, and on seeing the results, her mother immediately began to pray for her and spoke life to her. When tests were run again, a number of things had changed, and the report wasn’t as alarming as before; this surprised the doctors. Her pressure was normal. Josephine was treated for a week. Today she stands completely healthy. Glory to God.
