THE POWER OF THE TONGUE
Powerlessness (or the feeling of it) is one of the reasons many people give up on divine dreams and destinies. Ask those who have let go of their dreams why they did so, and the typical response will be, “I didn’t have what it takes”. If you press further, you will hear how they didn’t have the right background, the money, the education, the family and social networks or the tools to get the job done. In their mind, the absence of these things equals powerlessness.
If you are one of those who thinks you can’t be confident about your dream because you don’t have the power of money, education and social networks on your side, I have news for you –good news! You have something far more powerful for the success of your dream than the things you consider not to be on your side. Even better is the fact that what you have isn’t far from you; it is within you – it is the power of the tongue.
Your tongue, and what you say with it, has a limitless ability to unlock all the factors necessary for your dream to come to pass. What is good about this is that everybody has a tongue. In other words, no one has an advantage over others. Where the difference sets in is how you use your tongue – for or against yourself.
As far as God is concerned, “death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” (Proverbs 18:21, KJV). The death or life of your dream, your success or failure in life isn’t determined without your say. If you don’t like what you have and see in your life, don’t blame it on anyone, anything or on God. Simply use the power of your tongue to change it to what you desire. Whether you live to see your dream is not necessarily determined by a good background, a good education, a large social network, a rich family or the part of the world you live in. It is not even up to God to determine it because He has already played His part. That may come as a shock to you if you haven’t read and understood what the Bible has to say about the power of the tongue.
For example, the Bible says, “Does anyone want to live a life that is long and prosperous? Then keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies! Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it” (Psalm 34:12−14, NLT). Notice that the choice is yours. The same Bible also says, “I call heaven and earth to witness this day against you that I have set before you life and death, the blessings and the curses; therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live” – (Deuteronomy 31:19, AMPC).
Without putting the power of the tongue to work for your good, natural forms of power such as money, education, social networks or location will only take you so far and do so much for you before your life and prosperity start to unravel. That is correct: “…the prosperity of fools shall destroy them” (Proverbs 1:32, KJV). So, go ahead and put the power of the tongue to work for, and not against you. How? By finding out from the Bible the things God has done in you, with you and for you in Christ Jesus; and frequently saying them with your mouth – both to yourself and your listeners.

THE PERFORMANCE OF THE LORD
2024 is our Year of Performance. As individuals, there shall be a performance of those things said to us by our God to them that believe. (Luke 1:45).
God spoke to Jacob in a dream one night in Bethel that He would be with him until He had done that which he had spoken to him. And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of (Genesis 28:15).
We are that great city of God, in whom God inhabits. He has spoken glorious things about us (Psalm 87:3). Like Jacob, He is with us until there is a performance of all He has promised us. Not even trouble will be able to hinder God’s word being fulfilled in our lives. He has promised to never leave us. That means all our needs are His care. …for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me (Hebrews 13:5−6) KJV
Let us boldly speak to what confronts us, no matter if it looks bigger than us - a mountain, an impossibility, strange occurrence, a bewilderment, etc. The Lord will not leave us until He performs His good word. He is a very present help! He loves helping us out of trouble even if it’s self-inflicted.

Entebbe, Wakiso | James thanks God for His faithfulness of long life. James’ grandmother lived to 120 years. She was born in 1900 and passed on in 2023. People in her community would visit her just to see what a person of 100 and more years looks like. As a family, they celebrate the years God granted them with her. All but one of her children, James’ dad, died before their mother. In 1993 James’ father got born again and led the family down the same path. The next year, his father passed on and this sparked a realization in James that the family was under attack and suffering premature deaths. He took a deliberate step to see this come to an end. Then the next family member that passed on, died in 1996. Since then, there had never been another death in the family until that of his grandmother in 2023, who passed on full of years. He praises God who has kept their family.
TESTIMONIES
Entebbe, Wakiso | Lydia glorifies the Lord her healer. In 2022, her children were in hospital almost every month. However, in 2023 her story changed. She couldn’t remember the last time she took them to hospital. Late last year, however, while at work, she felt unwell and decided to go for a check up on her way home. While at the hospital, they took her blood pressure four times. The doctors appeared in shock. The reading was 189/107, and they wanted to admit her but she insisted on going home. On Sunday, three days later, Lydia made it to church despite her condition. She said to herself “ALFC is my Zion and I will find my deliverance there”. That day, the sermon was ‘the methods of receiving healing’, which she appropriated and got back on her feet. Glory to God.
Kampala, Kiira | Amanda glorifies the Lord for enabling her to attain a Doctorate in Philosophy (PhD). Her dream of attaining a PhD started in 2012. In 2014, she enrolled for it. Two years down, she suffered a family tragedy and almost gave up. As a result, her student registration entered an inactive status. A destiny helper however, surfaced on her path and encouraged her to re-register and she did so. In 2017, she embarked on her study journey. On December, 2023, six years later, she graduated with a PhD award. She celebrates a dream come true. She thanks the Lord for the favour, provision and destiny helpers He set on her way to propel her forward. Despite the hurdles, she didn’t lose sight of her dream.
Humming Bird
"Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord and not for people, knowing that it is from the Lord that you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve. Colossians 3:23-24

Once there was a great forest re. All the animals ed to the edge of the forest and froze in fear not knowing what to do. ey watched as the ames began destroying the beauty of their home. Finally a tiny hummingbird ew to a body of water and took a few drops into its beak. It then ew quickly toward the re allowing the drops to fall on the roaring ames. Over and over the tiny bird continued. Drop by drop. Back and forth. Again and again. e other animals watched from the edge of the forest, and called to the little bird, "What are you doing?" e hummingbird replied, "I am doing what I can."
In God's hands, small can become big just like in John 6 when a boy's lunch of five loaves and two fish became enough to feed over 5,000 and also have leftovers! This little hummingbird story can remind us to do what we can. Everything we do for the Lord Jesus matters. It counts! Every word, every prayer, every act of kindness, every hug, every penny. Small counts in the hands of our BIG God!
