يســتهل الموســم الجديــد مــن موســيقى أبوظبــي الكالســيكية 2021بعــرض مميــز يحييــه راقــص الفالمنكــو الشــهير كــورو دي كانديــا ،الــذي يتميــز بأســلوب يمــزج الشــكل التقليــدي للفالمنجــو مــع العناصــر األفرو-كوبيــة ،وهــذا مــا يســتند عليــه العــرض الجديــد «أكثــر مــن مجــرد فالمنجــو» الــذي يأخــذ هــذا الفــن الكالســيكي إلــى فضــاءات وأبعــاد جديــدة. يشــارك فــي العــرض مجموعــة مــن الراقصيــن والمغنيــن والموســيقيين ليقدمــوا عرضــً ســحريًا ينبــض بالتاريــخ والمشــاعر التــي مــن المؤكــد أن تجعــل الجمهــور يختبــر شــغف الفالمنجــو األصيــل.

أكثر من مجرد فالمنجو ينتمــي كــورو دي كانديــا إلــى أســرة فنيــة هــو أصغــر أفرادهــا ،هــذه األســرة التــي أطلقهــا عمــه خوســيه جريكــو ،وهــو أول نجــم عالمــي للرقــص اإلســباني ،والتــي تضــم لــوال جريكــو التــي فــازت بالجائــزة الوطنيــة للرقــص وابنــة عــم والــد دي كانديــا (راقــص فالمنجــو أيضــً). وقــد ّ مكنــت القــدرات الطبيعيــة لــدى كانديــا وتدريبــه المســتمر مــن إتقــان تخصصــات رقصــات مختلفــة ،مثــل :الرقــص الكالســيكي ،والرقــص المعاصــر ،والرقــص الكوبــي األفريقــي والفالمنجــو. بــدأ كــورو دي كانديــا دراســته للفالمنجــو فــي مدرســة «أمــور دي ديــوس» العريقــة للرقــص فــي مدريــد ،والتــي تــد ّرب فيهــا فنانــون عظمــاء ،مثــل :خواكيــن كورتيــس وأنطونيــو كاناليــس، وانضــم إلــى فرقــة الرقــص التابعــة لخواكيــن كورتيــس للرقــص وهــو فــي ســن الســابعة عشــرة. وهنــاك ،وضــع دي كانديــا أساســيات أســلوبه الفريــد مــع كريســتوبال رييــس وأبنــاء عمــه أنطونيو ومانويــل رييــس ،ومــن تلــك اللحظــة وازن بيــن تمرينــه وظهــوره كضيــف فــي فــرق الرقــص المرموقــة ،مثــل ماريــا خونــكال وأنطونيــو رييــس ،والرقــص فــي أفضــل قاعــات ومســارح رقــص الفالمنجــو فــي مدريــد.
وســع كــورو دي كانديــا معرفتــه بالرقــص الكالســيكي والمعاصــر والرقــص األفريقــي فــي ّ كوبــا ،حيــث اســتدعاه مصمــم الرقــص الشــهير رينيــه دي كاردينــاس طالبــً منــه المشــاركة كراقــص ضيــف فــي عرضــه «ســونالر» ،فانخــرط فــي التدريبــات مــع الفرقــة لعــدة أشــهر علــى مزيــج معقــد بيــن الرقــص والفالمنجــو .قدمــت الفرقــة عرضهــا «ســونالر» لمــدة ثالثــة أشــهر فــي مدريــد ،ثــم قامــوا بجولــة فــي مختلــف أرجــاء كوبــا .وفــي الوقــت نفســه ،كان كــورو دي كانديــا يعمــق معرفتــه برعايــة أكبــر فــرق الرقــص فــي كوبــا .وأعطــى دي كانديــا بضعــة دروس فــي مركــز الباليــه اإلســباني فــي كوبــا ولفرقــة ليــزت ألفونســو للرقــص. قــام خــوان رامــون لــوكاس بدعوتــه لتصميــم الرقــص وتنســيق الموســيقى إلعــان أكبــر مهرجــان عالمــي للفالمنجــو ،وهــو كانتــي دي الس مينــاس فــي مورســيا ،إســبانيا .وقــد أكســبته مشــاركته الثنــاء واعتــراف النقــاد والجمهــور بــدوره. أســس كــورو دي كانديــا عرضــه الخــاص فــي الثانــي والعشــرين مــن عمــره .وكان العــرض األول لـــفالمنجو فقــط -فــي كازينــو دي أرانجويــز ،مدريــد ،ثــم قــام بجولــة فــي جميــع أنحــاء إيطاليــا. وضــم دي كانديــا لعرضــه راقصــً كوبيــً ،وبــدأ فــي إضافــة حــركات مبتكــرة أثمــرت والدة أفروجيتانــو (الغجــري األفريقــي). أصبــح دي كانديــا فــي عــام 2012منتجــً ومديــرًا فنيــً ونجــم إمباكتــو ( 2012نيــو وايــن ميامــي)، والــذي كان يضــم خمســة وعشــرين مــن أفضــل الفنانيــن المعاصريــن مــن عالــم الفالمنجــو، فضــ ً ا عــن مشــاركته فــي برامــج تلفزيونيــة دوليــة ،مثــل :الرقــص مــع النجــوم (دانــس ويــذ ذا ســتارز) فــي الواليــات المتحــدة األمريكيــة ،جمالنــا الالتينــي (مــن إنتــاج يونيفيجــن) ،جائــزة غرامــي الالتينيــة .اختــار دي كانديــا شــخصيًا طائفــة مــن أفضــل الفنانيــن والمبدعيــن لمفهومــه الفنــي الجديــد ،والــذي يأمــل أن يضــع معاييــر جديــدة وأن يقــرب بيــن الرقــص المعاصــر والكوبــي األفريقــي والفالمنجــو.

This year’s opening act of the season will be the acclaimed flamenco dancer Curro de Candela, who blends Afro-Cuban elements with the traditional form. His new show More than Flamenco builds on flamenco’s classical foundations to take the art form in new directions. MORE THAN FLAMENCO Curro de Candela is the latest representative of an artistic dynasty started by his uncle José Greco, the first major international star of Spanish dance, and which also included Lola Greco, National Dance Award winner and the cousin of de Candela’s father (also a flamenco dancer). His training and natural ability has enabled him to master the various disciplines within dance, such as classical and contemporary dance, Afro-Cuban dance and flamenco. De Candela began studying flamenco at the legendary Amor de Dios dance school in Madrid where great figures such as Joaquín Cortés and Antonio Canales were trained. At 17 he joined Joaquín Cortés’s dance company. It was here, with the great Cristóbal Reyes and his cousins Antonio and Manuel Reyes, that he laid the foundations for what would become his unique style. From that moment, he balanced his training with guest appearances in prestigious companies such as María Juncal and Antonio Reyes, as well as dancing in the best dance halls and tablaos of Madrid.
De Candela expanded his knowledge of classical and contemporary and African dance in Cuba, where he was summoned by the famed choreographer René de Cárdenas, who asked him to perform as a guest artist in the show Sonlar. He trained with the company for several months, working on an intricate blend of dance and flamenco, which the company then presented in Madrid for three months. It then toured Cuba, visiting all the provinces —a time that de Candela used to deepen his knowledge under the wings of the main dance companies of Cuba. He gave several masterclasses at the Spanish Ballet of Cuba and for the Lizt Alfonso Dance Company. De Candela was then invited by Juan Ramón Lucas to choreograph and set music to the announcement of the largest international flamenco festival, Cante de las Minas in Murcia, Spain. His participation earned him praise and recognition from critics and members of the public. When he was 22, de Candela created his own show. The first performance —of just flamenco — took place at the Casino de Aranjuez, Madrid, and he then took it on tour throughout Italy. He incorporated a Cuban dancer and began adding groundbreaking, innovative elements, the results of which led to Afrogitano (African Gypsy). In 2012, de Candela was the producer, artistic director and star of Impacto 2012 (New Wine Miami), which brought together 25 of the best contemporary artists from the world of flamenco. He has also starred in international television programmes, such as Dancing with the Stars (USA), Our Latin Beauty (produced by Univision) and the Latin Grammy Awards. De Candela has handpicked some of the best artists and creators for his new artistic concept, which he hopes will set new standards and bring contemporary and Afro-Cuban dance and flamenco closer together.
