ADAMS NAMED PRESIDENT OF ADBANC, INC., KRAUSE NAMED PRESIDENT OF ADAMS BANK & TRUST Todd S. Adams, CEO of Adams Bank & Trust, is pleased to officially announce multiple promotions within the organization’s executive team, including a new bank president.

“With the phenomenal growth our bank has experienced over the past 18 months and with two new branches on the horizon, we saw a chance to ensure the strategic objectives of the bank had the time and attention they needed to truly capitalize on these opportunities. Chad S. Adams has been promoted from President of Adams Bank & Trust, to President of ADBANC, Inc. This promotion created multiple promotions to follow, including the promotion of our long-time Chief Banking Officer, Steve D. Krause to President of Adams Bank & Trust,” said Todd S. Adams, CEO of Adams Bank & Trust.

Chad S. Adams, a fourth-generation banker of the Adams family, has served as President for the past 14 years and led the bank as it grew from 16 branches and $400 million in assets to its current position at over $1.1 billion in assets with 20 branches. As President of ADBANC, Inc. (holding company of Adams Bank & Trust), Adams will be able to focus primarily on the strategic direction of Adams Bank & Trust and the growth opportunities that the bank should pursue.

president of ADBANC, Inc. Chad Adams has been promoted to President of ADBANC, Inc. ADBANC, Inc. is the holding (parent) company of Adams Bank & Trust. Chad moved back to Ogallala in 1986 to join the family banking business as a fourth-generation banker, learning all he could from his grandfather, father and brother. Initially he was Chairman of the Loan Committee and legal counsel for the bank, and continues to utilize his law and financial background to counsel clients in financial investing and planning. Chad is a member of the Nebraska Bar and is a non-practicing Certified Public Accountant. He will continue in his current role as a bank director for Adams Bank & Trust.

Chad and his wife, Barbara, have four children and two grandchildren.

The additional promotions following Adams’ promotion, named Steve D. Krause as President of Adams Bank & Trust. Krause served as CBO for the organization for 7 years and has been with the bank for 38 years. He is located at the bank’s flagship branch in Ogallala, Nebr. Drew Krab, who previously served as President of the bank’s commercial banking department for over 7 years and is also located in Ogallala, Nebr., served as the successor to Krause’s previous role and now serves as Chief Banking Officer; overseeing all department presidents. John Berkhausen, a Senior Vice President of the bank’s commercial banking department, who offices out of the bank’s southern Fort Collins branch, was promoted to President of Commercial Banking.

Berkhausen will oversee commercial banking for all 20 branches across Nebr., Colo. and Kansas.

Steve Krause has been to promoted to President of Adams Bank & Trust. Krause has been with the Bank 38 years, starting as a loan officer back when it was Keith County Bank & Trust, and most recently was the Chief Banking Officer of Adams Bank & Trust.

He attended Central Community College and is also a graduate of the Colorado Graduate School of Banking.

Andrew Krab has been promoted to Chief Banking Officer of Adams Bank & Trust. His overall responsibilities include overseeing the loan and retail operations of the bank. Krab grew up on his family’s ranch outside of Paxton, Nebraska and started as a summer teller at AB&T before joining full time as a loan officer trainee the following year after graduating from University of Nebraska at Kearney. Drew has been with the bank for over 25 years, most recently as President of Commercial Banking.

John Berkhausen has been promoted to President of Commercial Banking.

Berkhausen has been with the bank since 2020 and previously served as Senior Vice President of Commercial Banking. He offices out of the southern Fort Collins branch of the bank and will oversee commercial banking for all 20 branches across Nebr., Colo. and Kansas. John earned his bachelor’s degree from Boston College, as well as a Juris Doctor and MBA from Creighton University.

Steve and his wife, Joan, were blessed with three children and six grandchildren. Outside of the bank, Steve enjoys ranching and spending time with his grandchildren. He serves on the Keith County Ag Committee, Ogallala Roundup Rodeo Chairman and has previously served as the Chairman of the Ogallala City Council, Keith County Chamber Chairman, Community Redevelopment Authority member, and Keith County Ag Committee Chairman. He is also a retired high school and college football referee.

Drew and Shawna have six children and they dedicate much of their time to chasing them around for their various activities. In his free time, Drew enjoys reading, college sports, home improvement projects and travel. An active member of his community, Drew volunteers his time as a member of the Ogallala Tree Board, the Ogallala Optimist Club, the Ogallala Elks Club and the Knights of Columbus.

John and his wife, Cristin, have four daughters, Grace, Nora, Clara, and Mary. In his free time, John enjoys reading, outdoor sports and recreation, attending his kids’ sporting events, going to concerts, and travel. John is also actively involved in his community and serves as the Chair of the Finance Council for St. Joseph Catholic Parish, a member of the Government Affairs Committee for the Colorado Bankers Association, and a member of the Board of Directors for the St. Luke’s Medical Clinic.
