ALBERTA FOALED STAKES GENERAL CONDITIONS

1. All races may be raced in either (a) an elimination and a final or (b) a final only.

2. Races conducted on an 11/16th track are subject to the following conditions

a) If nine (9) horses or less declare to start, the race shall only be conducted as a final.

b) If ten (10) horses or more declare, the race shall be conducted in eliminations and a final

a) If nine (9) horses or less declare to start, the race shall only be conducted as a final.

Purses shall be divided as follows:

1) Seventy percent (70%) to the final

2) Thirty percent (30%) to be divided equally among the eliminations.

For races split into eliminations:

a) Horses owned by the same owner(s) must be seeded in separate elimination heats to the extent possible.

b) Horses trained by the same trainer must be seeded in separate elimination heats to the extent possible.

4. In a race requiring one or more eliminations, the final shall be limited to:

a) Horses that have started in an elimination

b) Horses declared to a final are the top 9 money earners in the elimination. In descending order, the next highest declared money earners shall appear also eligible

c) If nine (9) top money earners are not declared to the final, said non-money earners shall be eligible.

d) In the event of a tie for official placing in eliminations, a draw by lot shall determine the starters and eligibility for the final.

5. All starters must be declared at or before the standard closing time stipulated on the condition sheet.

6 All declaration fees are due and MUST be received by the ASHA Horsemen’s Bookkeeper before the standard closing time (time of declaration) stipulated on the condition sheet. Failure to do so could result in the horse being scratched by the HRA Board of Judges

ALBERTA SIRES STAKES (2-YEAR-OLDS) GENERAL CONDITIONS

1. Two-year-old races are raced in legs comprised of divisions to qualify for the Super Final or Super Final Consolation

2 Races for 2-year-olds conducted on an 11/16th or one (1) mile track are subject to the following conditions:

a) If nine (9) or fewer declare to start, the race shall only be conducted as a single race, completing the appropriate leg.

b) If ten (10) or more declare, the race shall be split into divisions, completing the appropriate leg

All declaration fees will be added to the division the declared horse is in.

3. For races split into divisions,

a) Horses owned by the same owner(s) must be seeded in separate divisions to the extent possible.

b) Horses trained by the same trainer must be seeded in separate divisions to the extent possible

4 To qualify for the 2-year-old Super Final, the following will apply

a) Horses that have started in a division.

b) Horses declared to the 2-year-old Super Final are the divisions' highest nine (9) point earners

In descending order, the following nine (9) highest reported point earners shall appear in the 2- 2- yearold Super Final Consolation

c) The remaining highest declared point earners in descending order shall appear in the 2-year-old Super Final Consolation as also eligible

d) In the event of a tie for official placing, the declared horses with the most division starts will have a preference for the 2-year-old Super Final or 2-year-old Super Final Consolation. Should a tie still exist, a draw by lot shall determine the starters and also eligibles in the Super Final Consolation.

5 All starters must be declared at or before the standard closing time per the condition sheet

6 All declaration fees are due and MUST be received by the ASHA Horsemen’s Bookkeeper before the standard closing time (time of declaration) per the condition sheet. Failure to do so could result in the horse being scratched by the HRA Board of Judges

7 All purse distributions shall be subject to Horse Racing Alberta Racing Rules – Part 6 – Division #1 –Rule 367.
