We are Derryfield

Katherine Schwope â&#x20AC;&#x2122;13 << When visited Orphanage Outreach in the Dominican Republic through Derryfieldâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s global education program, she learned first hand the principles and practice of helping others. Like other Derryfield students, Katherine recognizes that in giving, one learns about and from those whose experiences differ from her own.

“For me it’s all about the desire to give other kids the opportunity to have a defining life experience like DS was for me. Whether it be my love of things mathematical (thank you Messieurs Lemire, Bailey, and Holland), my writing skills (Mr. Belt), my passion for languages (Madame Townsend), my appreciation for drama (Mr. Allen), or the simple pleasure of being with friends, I find the influence of my four years at DS remarkably and wonderfully persistent. Everyone should be so lucky!”
