Theodore Tuvia (Ted) Daniels was born on July 17, 1912, in NY.
During World War II, at age 30, Ted volunteered in the US Army and fought
on the European front.
Ted was killed in action on September 9, 1944, in France, while serving as a Wireless operator on an RCN tank team in a battle against the German Nazi troops.
In recognition of his military career and his courageous death, Theodore’s mother was presented two military awards by US President Harry Truman:
the Bronze Star Medal and the Purple Heart.
The medals are displayed in Beit Hagdudim Museum, Israel.
