AERO JOE PILATES

Birmingham’s own AERO JOE PILATES has had quite the entrepreneurial glow-up in health and wellness. Read about all the details below in our interview with Alison Page, Master Teacher | Founder | President.

We offer a welcoming studio environment & the trusted expertise to impart the total benefits of Pilates for all bodies, especially those in need of injury recovery. Most often our clients come to us from doctor referrals, as we are experienced in easing common aches from sciatica, herniated discs, frozen shoulder, IT band syndrome, hip bursitis, sprained ankles, plantar fasciitis and more. During the summer months, we become a home for collegiate athletes in the off-season. Several doctors, faculty and staff at UAB Medical have found us to be an outlet to de-stress and for total body conditioning. • Additionally, we offer semi-private workout experiences (7 students max). One of our favorite things at The Pig is the Questions we get. Most every day we have a customer ask us for some bottle of wine they enjoyed somewhere. This is our attempt to, as the 1996 movie Jerry Maguire would say, “Help me help you!”

2020 DOMAINE RIFFAULT SANCERRE

Global demand for Sancerre has been going through the roof while production levels have plummeted. The 2020 harvest was good, but demand is rapidly outstripping supply. The 2021 vintage was dire, with production only around 30% of a normal year. Maybe our favorite Sancerre under $30, it is $29.99. Get this one while you can!

The best thing you can do to help find a bottle you’ve enjoyed is to

take a picture. The absolute best, Heaven Sent, thing you can do is take a picture of the front and the back of the bottle. The back label sometimes contains the best information! Our most efficient form of Communication is email. Take those two pictures and email them to scott@thepigbham.com and we will help you figure it out. We know it was good, we don’t have to Taste It. We know you wouldn’t go to the effort of tracking it down if you didn’t love it. And the email is great because there is often Not Enough Time to pop down to The Pig and show us your phone. All Around, email is our favorite way to help you find the wine you seek.

2020 CHALK HILL CHARDONNAY, RUSSIAN RIVER VALLEY

We know, we know, yet ANOTHER California Chardonnay. But this one, for $19.99, has everything you are looking for in a great balance. It has the fruit, butter & cream, oak, minerality, and acidity you seek in a Chardonnay from California, but none of the components overwhelms the other.

2021 COS FRAPPATO

“Brevity is the soul of wit.” This is an excellent wine. It is a fresh, friendly, elegant red wine for $24.99 that has no business being this good for this low of a price.

2019 AUCTIONEER CABERNET

This is a “old school” Napa Cabernet crafted in honor of Michael Broadbent, the auctioneer. He was a Master of Wine and an incredible talent. This wine is refined, elegant, and beautifully balanced – in essence, the style of wine that made Napa Valley famous.
