Spring Dresses Style Guide by Looks & Merit

Zara Embroidered Striped Dress

Embroidery is such a hot commodity right now. I love how Zara paired the embroidery with a red and white striped fabric and feminine ruffles to keep this dress super wearable instead of overly bohemian. This is such an easy, throw-on-and-go kind of dress that can be styled with your favorite sandals, mules or heels.

3 TIPS FOR WEARING

SPRING DRESSES

J.O.A. One-Shoulder Stripe Mini Dress

What’s not to love about this blue and white striped dress with a flouncy one-shoulder detail? It’s perfect for all of your spring events, from baby showers to backyard BBQs. Bonus points if you style it with your favorite waist belt!

1) A nude strapless bra is your new best friend. Invest in one you love that stays in place and you’ll be ready to throw on all of your spring dresses with confidence.

C/MEO Collective Framework Dress

This dress is reminiscent of one of spring’s most beloved items – the trench coat. There’s so much to love about this dress, like the doublebreasted button opening, universallyflattering ivory fabric, nice tailoring and mid-length. You can also style the top straight across or folded down, like it’s pictured here.

2) Always keep in mind that the shorter the hemline, the shorter your heel should be. You can wear mini dresses confidently – just throw on your favorite lace-up sandals to keep the look appropriate.

ABOUT

8 TOWN

Alice & Olivia Coley A-line Dress

The high neckline and A-line cut of this dress keeps it office-appropriate styled with a neutral blazer but the bright lemon hue means this dress can still work overtime for the weekend styled with the right accessories (like sandals and a straw bag).

3) A bright or even a neutral-hued belt with metallic detailing always up the ante (and gives you figureflattering shape) on a flowy spring dress

BCBG Jann Floral Print Dress

The soft, flowy lines, silk chiffon fabric and subtle floral print make for a stunning combination in this dress. Pack it for that fabulous vacation you’re planning or wear it out at girls night with your favorite strappy heels.

Nutritional Guidance

Quick Healthy Meals... an Oxymoron? Wouldn’t it be great if we could all have a garden in our backyard? One that produced fresh vegetables that we could pick each afternoon and roast or throw into a big colorful salad for dinner? But let’s just be honest, how many of us really have the time or space to grow our own food? Here are some realistic, time-saving tips to help you provide quick healthy meals at home.

1 2

BUY FROZEN. Frozen fruits and vegetables are picked fresh, flash frozen and shipped straight to the grocery. The benefit of buying frozen is you never have an excuse of not having a vegetable to cook for dinner. Plus, you can just pull out what you need and reseal the rest for later. Keep your freezer stocked with the vegetable that you know the majority of your family will eat.

Ex: FROZEN BROCCOLI FLORETS. Zap these in the microwave for

a couple minutes to defrost. Then place on a roasting pan coated with cooking spray and roast at 400 for about 25 mins. Meanwhile, cook some instant brown rice in the microwave and pair with meat of choice.

MAKE FOIL PACKS. These can be made in advance so they’re ready to throw in the oven when you rush in from being at the ballpark all day. Seen all over the internet, pick your combinations of choice: • Italian seasoned chicken breasts with sliced zucchini/squash/onion • Shrimp with a mini corn-on-the-cob and a small diced red potato • Chicken sausage with bell peppers and red onions

3

THINK FUNCTIONALLY. When stocking the pantry, do so with items that have multiple roles and nutritional benefits. For example, pretzels. They are a healthier go-to snack over potato chips plus you can crush them and make a delicious “oven fried” chicken breast. Or choose chickpeas instead of plain white beans. Just 10 mins of roasting in the oven can turn these guys into a crunchy highprotein and high-fiber snack (you can also toss them on a salad instead of croutons!) Finally, low-sodium chicken broth is always good to have handy. It can serve as flavoring for sautéing vegetables or meats instead of a higher fat option. You can also substitute chicken broth for white wine if you don’t have a bottle lying around. Or use it to cook your brown rice instead of plain water.

Research proves that those who eat at home more often have better management over their weight. Start now by loading up your house with healthy options so that when you come home from work exhausted, you can feel confident that there is something healthy waiting for you in your kitchen. ABOUT

Why Won’t He Kiss Me? >>> I’ve been on several dates with a great guy. He’s very sweet, attractive, polite and I like him a lot. The problem? He hasn’t kissed me yet, and I want him to! How do I let him know that I’d like him to take the initiative? Maybe he’s just nervous that he’s not a good kisser?

You may be correct. Maybe he is afraid he is not a good kisser. However, I don’t think you or he will probably go through life without kissing...either in this relationship or another. There might be many reasons why he hasn’t kissed you yet. Maybe you could try a few different things. Subtle hints might be a great way to start. Watch a romantic movie, and point out all of the amazing kissing scenes letting him know exactly what you like. Lean in a little closer. Make lots of eye contact. Touch his face or even his lips, if the moment calls for it. Not-so-subtle hints might be required if you still haven’t gotten that kiss you desire after all other attempts have failed. Tell him what you think about the appropriate number of dates before kissing should happen. Kiss him on the cheek, and linger to allow a little time for him to react with a kiss. If none of these do the trick, just kiss him!!! Maybe he isn’t good at reading signs and signals. Why do we have to wait for the guy to make that move? Sometimes you just have to go for what you want. Just remember to enjoy the moment, and be prepared in case he is shocked or doesn’t reciprocate.

photo: Erica Kay Photography

I’ve been friends with a guy for awhile and I’d like him to ask me out, but I’m not happy with his communication style. He used to text me, but now it seems we primarily communicate through Snapchat! I’d really like him to call me and ask me out over the phone like a grown-up (call me old-fashioned if you want). How can I convey this to him? >>>

It’s so unfortunate that the verbal way of communicating has become so obsolete! There is so much one can learn about a potential partner from the tone of their voice, their initial reaction to a question and the effort they put in to making that call and keeping it going. NOW, we text, we Snapchat, we Instagram, we tweet and use any other method that requires little thought and little actual effort! If REAL communication is what you need, don’t settle for less. There are still some old-fashioned guys out there if this one doesn’t work out. Be honest. Maybe he thinks that you are completely happy with this form of communication. If you have been responding to him using the current form of communication, Snapchat, he might not think he needs to make any changes. ABOUT

12 T O W N

You want the “old-fashioned” kind of communication, so model that for him. Call him and talk to him, or maybe send him a Snapchat of you holding your phone with some scribble writing that says “call me.” Ask him to go for coffee, and then really rave about how much you enjoyed actually talking to him in person and hearing his voice. Let him know that you enjoy a more personal type of interaction. It’s amazing at how much someone can adjust when they actually know what makes that special someone smile. The “Lucky 7” workout is becoming a fast favorite of mine for so many reasons; it’s versatile, quick, incorporates strength and cardio and is just plain fun! I call it Lucky 7 because you take 7 exercises, 7 repetitions, for 7 rounds (or sets). The key to the Lucky 7 workout is to keep moving, only taking about a minute rest between rounds. This totalbody killer should only take 30-45 minutes and is great for getting ready for the beach or a take-along workout while you travel. Be sure to tag AboutTown in all your workouts!

>> RESISTANCE BAND SQUAT JUMPS SET UP: Place resistance band around your ankles, step feet outside hips keeping resistance band pulled tight throughout exercise. Squat down with chest lifted and extending fingertips to the floor. Explode through legs into vertical jump, arms over head, and feet outside hips to keep resistance on legs and glutes throughout the movement.

SET UP: Set up a platform or box underneath a pull-up bar. When standing on the box with your arms raised, grab the bar with a standard pull-up grip. Using mostly your legs and finishing with your arms, pull yourself up over the bar. Resist as slowly as possible on the way down and try to stay light and fast on the balls of your feet.

ASK AN EXPERT

It seems to be a seller’s market right now. But, (excluding listing price) what are two of the biggest mistakes sellers make when they’re showing their home? “One of the biggest mistakes I see is sellers not considering their curb appeal. First impressions can really make a difference, so I suggest keeping your lawn well-maintained, sweeping the entryway and not piling up trash on the curb before showings. Also, ask for feedback from prospective buyers after a showing and use that to your advantage!”

“Marcus Kennedy made finding our new home a fun process.” When Tricia and Travis Kirby and their daughter Reagan were in the market for a new home, they turned to friend Marcus Kennedy for guidance. “We looked at twenty houses and Marcus gave us his honest assessment - no sugar coating,” says Travis. “He’s down to earth, honest, and accessible.” The fact that daughter Reagan loved having Marcus around, too, was another bonus. “He kept her needs in mind, too,” says Tricia. “Schools, sidewalks. ABOUT

UNIQUE FINDS FOR UNIQUE SPACES. Unique finds for unique spaces. That’s the Avondale Antiques motto. The shop is located at 4301 3rd Avenue South, just down the street from Avondale Park. After a quick drive by you may notice the pink plastic flamingos in the backyard poking their heads out at you or maybe the beautiful turquoise and orange antique chairs in the front. Either way, there is a sort of a sense of mystery that makes you wonder what else is in that little shop. The owner Fred Dyess is enthusiastic. He pays meticulous attention to detail. After you spend a few minutes in the shop you start to become aware of the way each item is so carefully placed. Different corners of the shop are divided into sections such as kitchenware and livingroom furniture. However, the shop is ever-changing as Fred buys and sells antiques. He always has a plan in his head for where the next item will be placed. Lamps, chandeliers, mobiles and lights hang from the ceiling; Fred is very interested in lighting. He is also fond of mid-century modern, noting that he enjoys the clean, crisp and simple lines and scale that define this style.

Avondale Antiques specializes in one-of-a-kind, and hand made light fixtures.

Avondale Antiques has a friendly atmosphere. When you walk in to shop you become immersed, and almost lost in a way. Not because the shop is a giant warehouse, but because there is so much to see. Every square inch of the shop is piled high with vintage furnishings and knick-knacks with just enough space for you to slide by as you marvel at each item.

FRED’S ADVICE

Buy something that really calls out to you and can be used in various ways as you move. Moreover, find a piece that you can use creatively as you grow and transition through life. Don’t buy a piece that is specifically for the apartment in which you currently live. Simply, enjoy the pursuit of finding what you like. It can be fun for young couples to explore and discover their unique tastes together. Don’t be afraid to buy what you like and do your own thing. Try not to care so much about what your friends or other people like. In this era of design anything goes. Right now the rules are not very important for decorating a home. Fred doesn’t mind when a home uses styles from different eras. In fact, he enjoys when the interior of a home looks like it evolved over a period of time. ABOUT

It’s All About a Relationship LAH agents Anna Frances and Guy Bradley have figured out how a couple can live and work together for the betterment of their marriage and their clients!

How has working together affected your marriage? We’ve always worked together, so we know no different. In those beginning years, when the the market was thin, it was tough, but we learned what we are made of. It made our marriage stronger for sure. Now we have confidence in ourselves and our business. What advantages can a couple (as opposed to an individual) bring to a client looking to buy/sell their house? Guy has an analytical mind, and I’m all psychological and emotional. Also, different clients require different attention. We’ve learned who might work best for a certain individual/ couple, and we let that person take the lead. His strength is negotiating and numbers. My strength is resale and livability. What survival tip would give any couple that works together? Figure out who does what best and practice that. Encourage each other. Thank each other. Learn from each other. Remember to laugh when you can! Real estate is such a 24/7 job. How do you disciple your time for just family-time? We are still learning how to do this...because there is no such thing as maternity leave or free weekends in this business, we have made a commitment to do whatever it takes for our clients. That means that whenever we are able to get away with our family, we are often on the phone and laptop a lot, but we feel fortunate that technology allows for this. I encourage Guy to hit the driving range or take the boys to play 9 holes, and I tag along when I can. We enjoy having friends over and visiting family at the beach (where LAH also has an office and Guy continues to sell there, too!). I’m a lake rat and love when we can get to our friends’ place on Smith Lake during the warm months. We are especially grateful that our children, family and friends understand what is required to be successful. LAH real estate agents Anna Frances and Guy Bradley in front of their Homewood house. They fell in love as kids at Camp Mac in the late 80’s, and have been married for almost 10 years. Anna Frances attended Auburn and Guy played golf at Florida State. Stand Out Creating an Accent Wall

When you hear the word “wallpaper”, what do you think? Is it weird florals in your grandma’s bathroom or a racecar-covered wall from your childhood? Does wallpaper fill you with dread or open your eyes to new artistic possibilities? With the fad of sterile whites and beiges everywhere you look, wallpaper is making a comeback, and we’re here to teach you the basics.

TEMPORARY PAPER Refresh your walls commitment free with temporary wallpaper. Temporary wallpaper is perfect for renters, serial movers and continuous redecorators. Advances in technology, such as new adhesive formulas, take out the stress of removing wallpaper when your style changes. No more scraping and steaming that still leaves residue behind. No more losing a security deposit for adding style to your apartment.

DO JUST 1 WALL Covering your entire kitchen in a busy print probably isn’t the best idea, as it can make your kitchen feel crowded. Choosing one wall as a feature wall or accent wall can create visual interest in any room. Covering one wall with a mural or wallpaper can add character to any bland space.

GRAYTON BEACH

$1,750,000

139 Banfill Street Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459 743503

3 BED/2.5 BATH This southern classic coastal home has several features that make it quite unique for Grayton Beach. It’s only one of three homes in Grayton that have backyard dock access to Western Lake and also commands enticing views of the Gulf of Mexico! The beach boardwalk is just across the quaint street in front of the house. It offers memorable inside-outside living, with generous wrap-around screened and open porches, shaded by overhangs keeping the sun off and breezes flowing in through the live oak trees and saw palmettos. Lots of windows let in fresh daylight and ceiling fans create a cool breeze throughout.

FOUR TIPS FOR BUYING AT THE BEACH 1. KNOW WHY YOU ARE BUYING. If you are looking for a quiet weekend getaway, your search may differ greatly from someone looking for an investment property to generate rental income. If you plan on transitioning to a full-time resident, that is a whole different thing all together. 2. KNOW WHERE YOU WANT TO BUY. There are many different choices here. For some, being beachfront is the only option. For others, being on the bay, or one of our many golf courses, may be the right fit. 3. RUN THE NUMBERS. Talk to your financial advisor and/or lender. Paying cash may be your best bet. Maybe you can sell an investment property elsewhere and exchange those funds to buy a beach property. Also, lending parameters on a second home differ from a primary residence. 4. SEEK OUT LOCAL KNOWLEDGE. Of course, I think everyone should call an LAH agent. At the very least, talk to your friends who own or live here. Just like in Birmingham, real estate here is local. Property values and population density may differ street to street and season to season. We want you to be happy that you own a piece of paradise. Being prepared and informed is the first step.

WANT THE BEST DEAL AT THE BEACH? DEAL WITH SOMEONE FROM BIRMINGHAM.

LAH REAL ESTATE, headquartered in Birmingham, has an office on 30A. Unlike the faceless international behemoths in the area, LAH offers its local family feel with a genuine interst and knowledge of the area. WHAT MAKES LAH BENEFICIAL? I have been with LAH since getting my license in 2007. The years that followed were a tough time to be in the real estate business. I had to grow and adapt both personally and professionally during those years. I also had the chance to watch LAH grow and adapt as a company. We are constantly monitoring the needs of the markets we are in, and the needs of our individual customers and clients. I love working with a company that is large enough to rival any others in the market, but we still maintain a small family feel where everyone has a voice. It is no wonder that LAH is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. I can proudly say that we have brought that same feeling of family and care to our office in Santa Rosa Beach. Although this is a vastly different real estate market than Birmingham, our agents here still have the deep care and concern for their customers. The trust and care that LAH has provided Birmingham area residents for years is the same thing they can expect at the beach. Whether someone is buying or selling a property here for personal use or investment, they still need their agent to truly care about their needs. We want to earn our customer’s trust for a lifetime, not just one transaction.

PAINT YOUR LEATHER

YES! You can paint your leather. This is the newest in home improvements. It’s not simple, but start with Chalk Paint. >

1. Prepare materials: Synthetic Bristle Brush 2”, Chalk Paint by Annie Sloan, leather furniture, water, bowl, wooden mixer, tarp.

Snazzy Little Things

2. When painting the areas of the couch with the most give, thin the paint out 30%. The paint will be extremely runny, so paint several very thin layers as it dries very quickly. When painting the other areas of the couch, thin it out about 10% as there will be less opportunity for cracking.

> Table Lamp $310.50 – Bring hues of romantic light and a contemporary pop of color with a statement table lamp. Burke Decor

3. Lay tarp under furniture to catch any drippings. 4. Do not be alarmed by the coloring of the first few layers. Things will even out. On the flexible areas, plan for about 6 coats and on the other parts, prepare for 4. 5. Allow 48 hours for optimal drying time.

Pure & Simple Classic meets contemporary in Deanna and Jeff Pizitiz’s sunny new kitchen. Its light and bright modern feel has subtle flairs of Jeff’s appreciation for antiques that compliment their classic Mountain Brook house.

T

The original kitchen was completely gutted. It was a small, dark 1960’s style kitchen and simply had to go. Deanna said when they were first married, she was trying to cook a nice homemade meal for her husband. While trying to work at the old stove, it was so dark that she would use a headlight like a miner trying to see in a cave. She knew something had to change. More like it all had to change! They kept the windows, which are a beautiful element of their historic home, but everything else was completely updated. Jeff tried to convince her to keep the 25-yearold GE fridge, but his attempt was unsucessful. Deanna had to talk

Before

Jeff into getting the white marble because he was worried it was too soft. But with the gentle care they need, they’ll last for ages. Deanna’s favorite pieces are the double dishwashers and how much light pours through the leaded glass antique windows. A big problem they also had was the flooring. They tried hard to match the color of the old slate floors, but that turned out to be impossible so they went with a wide wood plank. In the end, Jeff said they should’ve gone with something totally different but he also shrugged it off knowing they’re their own worst critics. One of Jeff’s favorite features is how they designed all the appliances to have their own space in the cupboards. The Keurig, microwave, etc. are all built-in and kept off the countertop space, which helps the kitchen always look clean and open. Deanna has renuvating a few houses before, so when she says it’s her favorite kitchen she’s ever done, that really means something. She loves how versatile, functional and simply livable this beautiful space turned out to be. One of the most unique features I noted was the built-in dog kennel in the kitchen island, which was Jeff’s idea. Talk about functional! This dog kennel keeps Kingston out from underfoot but he can still be a part of all the festivities.

< The wrought iron came from mid-19th century exterior doors. They weren’t able to salvage the wood, but decided to have the iron refinished and fashioned onto their new doors. They were able to combine her love of neutral colors and his love of antiques for a special piece of character to add to their kitchen. > The couple debated on granite vs. marble. Marble is softer and requires a minimal amount of maintenance. But ultimately, the purity of color, and elegance of the marble was chosen.

SOME OF THE WORLD’S PUREST AND WHITEST MARBLE IS FOUND IN ALABAMA. QUARRIES IN TALLEDEGA COUNTY ARE KNOWN AS THE ALABAMA MARBLE BELT. FOR OVER 160 YEARS, IT HAS BEEN USED TO CLAD BUILDINGS SUCH AS THE U.S. SUPREME COURT AND THE LINCOLN MEMORIAL.

Staging Your Landscape by: Charlie Thigpin Charlie Thigpen’s Garden Gallery at Pepper Place

Y

ou want your landscaping to be attractive and inviting, but it also needs to meet your needs functionally. It should work with your lifestyle and the looks of your home. Unless you have an eclectic style in which you can do whatever you want! But if it’s a formal setting, you’ll want formal landscaping to go with it. If it’s a more natural style, you’ll want natural elements and design to blend with the surroundings. “I always tell people, you’re paying for it, so you do with it what you want. Make it yours and incorporate your style.” The main thing you want to keep in mind is maintenance.

You can have the best design and put in the best features, but unless it’s maintained properly, it’ll get run down so quickly and you’ll lose your investment. Think realistically to yourself, ‘How will I maintain this?’ and have a plan so the work doesn’t sneak up on you. “I’ve never had anyone ask me to design high-maintenance landscaping for them. Not once. But often, they’ll ask for help with a low maintenance landscape.”

<<< Pathways can create an axis and sight lines

to draw your eyes in and then the spot you want to accentuate can be the focal point. This can be anything you want it to be like a well-pruned Japanese maple, a birdbath, a water feature to those who want more maintenance, a really great looking container or an architectural fragment such as an old gate or an old metal wheel. A friend has a really amazing garden that incorporates the unexpected by playing off tension. He creates this feeling of tension by letting you see through a wall of trees to the other side. This way he only allows fragmented bits and pieces at a time to poke through. The walls create interest, suspense and intrigue in a clever way that finally opens up to let you see the whole magical garden.

Perennials are great for the spring. They’ll bloom from now

till the first frost. Perennials can enhance your landscape and since they come back every year they work great long-term making them a good investment. If you have a lot of sun (think 5-6 hours of full sunshine) look at Coreopsis, Perennial Lantanas (below) and Gauras. If your yard is more shaded (think morning sunlight or bits of sunlight throughout the day), look for plants like Hosta, Heuchera, and Toad Lillies. The Hosta and Heuchera won’t give you flowers but they will have outstanding foliage till frost.

ARE THERE PLANTS THAT WORK AS NATURAL INSECT REPELLANTS?

Celebrating 70 Years in Business

Citronella (above) and lemongrass plants are supposed to help naturally keep mosquitos away. Bees and butterflies are good for your yard. Plus, I’ve never been stung while working in the flowers either, so don’t be afraid to keep the kind of plants they attract around.

HOME • AUTO BUSINESS • LIFE

<<< When it comes to accessorizing and styling, know when to stop. Practice restraint. Add a little bit of layer at a time so you can see how each step affects the overall design goal and you don’t do too much at once or it risks getting muddled and less cohesive. Think of it like arranging flowers in a vase; sometimes the hardest thing to learn is to know when to stop. Don’t go too far into the arrangement by adding too many layers of flowers just to step back and realize there’s too much going on. If you go slow and see it layer by layer you can make sure that it all mimics your personality while making sure the landscape and look of your home enhance each other rather than distract and take away from one or the other.

Where to begin? The process of our selling and buying a home was not your typical scenario for us. With Katherine’s guidance our home sold in 3 days in the late Spring. Throw in some unexpected hospital stays and a crazy market for purchasing a home, and 6 months later we landed a home with Katherine’s unwavering assistance. No curve-ball was too big for Katherine, and believe me, there were curve-balls. Above all, she listens! Trust is a big word in real estate, and I continue to trust Katherine in helping us make big decisions. If you are looking for a “homegrown” representative for real estate... Harris Doyle Homes A leading residential developer and Birmingham-area newhome builder known for cutting edge style and impeccable customer service. Brooks Harris and Russ Doyle are both second-generation homebuilders born in and raised in Birmingham. Since joining forces, Brooks and Russ have leveraged their combined experience to create one of Birmingham’s largest homebuilding companies

On Mar 29, at 8:04 a.m. info@abouttownsite.com wrote:

On Apr 6, at 3:34 p.m. info@abouttownsite.com wrote:

Tell us how you got your start in homebuilding.

What sets Harris Doyle apart from the competition?

Brooks: My career began in 2004 when I launched Longleaf Homes, Inc., building new homes in the Highland Lakes neighborhood.

Brooks: Customer service! Harris Doyle’s dedication to customer service is reflected in our satisfaction ratings. 90% of our homeowners say they would recommend us to others!

Russ: I was working for my father’s company and then went out on my own to launch Fireside Homes, Inc. in 2005. On Mar 29, at 9:02 a.m. info@abouttownsite.com wrote:

What made you decide to join forces and create Harris Doyle Homes? Brooks: Russ and I were working side by side on projects in Pelham’s Ballantrae neighborhood. During that time, we completed 60 homes together.

Russ: We referred to ourselves as “friendly competitors,” but as we got to know each other, we soon realized that we could accomplish more together than separate. It was a no brainer. Harris Doyle Homes, Inc. was born in 2008. On Apr 3, at 7:42 a.m. info@abouttownsite.com wrote:

How many homes has Harris Doyle built since inception? Brooks: So far, we’ve built over 500 new homes in the Birmingham, Auburn and Pike Road (Montgomery) areas. On Apr 3, at 3:40 p.m. info@abouttownsite.com wrote:

Now’s your time to brag. Share with us some of Harris Doyle’s accolades. Russ: We were named Builder of the Year in 2010 -- just 2 years after the birth of the company. Brooks: We were named one of Birmingham’s Largest Builders and Privately Owned Companies by the Birmingham Business Journal. On Apr 4, at 7:38 a.m. info@abouttownsite.com wrote.

To whom or what do you owe your success? Russ: Our success is not only attributed to the generational experience that comes along with being from 2 Birmingham homebuilding families, but also the reputation Harris Doyle has developed both within the industry and through our homeowners.

Russ: We constantly strive to build quality new homes that exceed people’s expectations in terms of design, amenities and customization. We also realize that service begins after the sale and our ratings reflect Harris Doyle’s commitment to a high level of customer service. On Apr 8, at 9:38 a.m. info@abouttownsite.com wrote:

Are there any new projects going on at Harris Doyle that you can tell us about? Brooks: Griffin Park at Eagle Point is a highly-anticipated new home community at the site of the former Eagle Point Golf Course (off Hwy 280 in Birmingham, next to Lee Branch Shopping Center). Located in unincorporated Shelby County, in the highly sought after Oak Mountain School District, this new home community is jam-packed with a rare array of amenities (walking paths, fishing lakes, sidewalks, swimming pool and clubhouse) that most other new communities can’t touch. Russ: Harris Doyle Homes will be building 182 large home sites in Eagle Point. These homes will feature awardwinning designs that are built with superior quality and the trend-setting style people have come to expect from HD. Griffin Park is currently being developed and we’re taking lot reservations now.
