Another Brow Rehab Success! - - - - Eyebrows are the first thing I see when I’m looking at someone, even when I’m not working. I’m constantly trying to figure out how someone’s look can be improved with Brow Rehab. We often get used to seeing ourselves in the mirror and don’t realize our brows are in trouble. I recommend growing your eyebrows out for 6-8 weeks before your first eyebrow service. This will allow over tweezed eyebrows to grow into a shape. Eyebrow rehab time frames vary from person to person. Filling in your eyebrows with brow powder can help with the awkward stage before they are full enough for service, but remember not to go too dark. - - - I have several clients with microblading regrets. Before you make a permanant mistake try Brow Rehab. - - HERE’S A BEAUTIFUL ENDING TO A BROW REHAB SUCCESS STORY! A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS! Before and After:

What type of exercise works best for you and your body? In each issue, Fitness Pro Jennifer Frudaker will explore various gyms and workout routines around town and tell you what you need to know.

To see the video of this workout visit: abouttown.io

Takeaways Nexus integrates two of the most challenging workout styles on the market, Crossfit and HIIT, under one roof. A wall to keep each class focused on the work-at-hand separates the two class options; however, members are encouraged to try either “side” of the gym. The technology was also a biggie. During the HIIT class, members’ heart rate monitors sync with a TV screen to ensure they’re working at their true potential and recovering quickly. The HIIT classes rotate through four stations. Cardio, using the TRUFORM which is a self-propelled treadmill; weights, using a “torpedo” (a combination of a dumbbell and kettlebell); TRX, body weight and functional movements; and the rowing circuit.

Highlights E N E R G Y. If I could only use one descriptive word from my experience at Nexus Fitness, this would be it. The coaches kept my attention, the class members encourage one another, and the gym as a whole buzzed with a contagious energy that drove me to work harder than I have in a while.

nexusbirmingham.com

Nexus offers two types of workouts. On one side of the facility, they offer CrossFit, where they focus on technique and perform varied functional movements at a highintensity. On the other side, they offer heart rate-based high-intensity interval training, which they call Xcel.

This workout is geared toward you if... Fitness levels are intermediate to advanced. CrossFit has complex movements that require individualized coaching in the beginning. HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training and that is exactly what you’re going to get at Nexus. Variety and full-body fatigue are the name of the game and once you’ve established the fitness level, you won’t want to leave. If you are a beginner wanting to try a class, call ahead and speak to one of their helpful coaches, and if you’re stopping in, be sure to get there early. The best candidate for Nexus is someone who is not afraid of a challenge and thrives in group settings.

Taylor Dye, wine manager at the PIGGLY WIGGLY IN CRESTLINE

I T ’ S C O M IN G UP R O S É ROSÉ, which is produced from red grapes that receive shorter bouts of skin contact and aging than a traditional red wine, offers crisp, summer-berry and citrus

- - - Notice the different shades of pink. Each shade reflects the colors of the unique grapes used in producing the wine and the length of skin contact they receive.

zest flavors, and is not only versatile with food, but also plain delicious and quaffable on its own. With its rise in popularity and the subsequent increase in selection available, you may understandably be a little intimidated. Taking the time to learn about some classic Rosé producing regions and styles will help you embrace and understand many shades of pink, and find the perfect one for any occasion!

Germany – German rosé is typically produced from Pinot Noir, lending a zippy, lip-smacking style. These tend to have a great balance of ripe fruit character and acidity, making them a great match for a number of foods, especially dishes that are a little more rich and fatty. Other regions producing Pinot Noir rosés to look for include Sancerre and Oregon.

Spain – Spanish Rosados offer some of the best value on the shelf. Typically produced from Garnacha, Spanish rosés are usually bright and punchy with flavor. They do tend to be produced in a fuller bodied style, so think of a Tavel style with a little more zing! These are great options for making rosé-based cocktails (Frosé, anyone?).

Provence – located along the Mediterranean coast in Southern France, Provence is one of the most classically known rosé regions. Provencal rosés are typically light, with a pale salmon color, fresh berry flavors and a hint of minerality. They are perfect as porch sippers and pair well with fresh, Mediterranean style dishes and salads. This style is often emulated in other parts of the world, so the adjective Provencal can be very handy to know when Rosé shopping.

Tavel – Tavel is a wine region located in the Southern Rhone Valley of France (just Northeast from Marseille) and has been devoted to exclusively making rosé wines since 1936. Tavel is a style apart from most of the rosé you find on the shelf. It is a darker hue of pink resulting from longer skin maceration (essentially this style gets a little closer to being a true red wine than most) yielding a dark, full bodied and spicier rosé. A common misconception is that the dark-hued styles are sweet, but this is not the case. Tavel is a great option for rosé in the cooler months, or when you need a heartier style to pair with foods you may not typically think of having with a rosé, such as beef or game.

Bandol – Bandol is a region located within Provence (down >>> Be on the lookout for the new 2018 vintages arriving over the

the Southeat coast from Marseille) that produces serious, structured rosé that can often hold up to aging and really start to shine a couple years after release. Bandol is predominantly based on the grape Mourvèdre, which produces a rustic, savory style, and one of the best fits at the dinner table. Rosé from this region are some of the most esteemed of their type, and therefore will cost you a little bit more to try ($20-$40), but are absolutely worth it.

Answers Your Real Estate Questions Realtor@RealtySouth

There seems to not be a lot of inventory in the real estate market now. What is your advice for buyers looking to move this Spring.

To have all of your ducks in a row before you start looking. Get your pre-approval ready, know where your down payment is coming from, have your chosen Realtor and be ready to hit the ground running. Homes are going very quickly! As soon as you notice a home you think you may like, schedule a showing and try to bring all of the decisions makers on the first look. If you notice “Coming soon” signs snap a picture and send it to your agent so they can start investigating the details to get you in the home as soon as they become active on the MLS.

What is the biggest mistake first time home buyers make?

Don’t get too caught up on how much a lender says you’re approved to spend. Focus more on your actual budget and live within your means. When I bought my home I just told my lender what I wanted to spend a month, and he told me how much to spend to achieve that goal. The quickest way to become unhappy in your new home is if you feel like you are house poor. Also, be open minded to things that can be changed easily-like a bad paint choice. A little of paint and elbow grease can go a long way in making your house a home

What part of town/neighborhood/area do you see as undervalued or as a good investment? Roebuck Springs-I feel like it’s a hidden secret! I have also noticed many first time homebuyers moving to South East Lake, due to the higher prices inCrestwood and Avondale.
