How Can You Be Healthier in 2024?

We asked Amanda Traywick who is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer, a PN1 Certified Nutrition Coach and owner of The Heights Fitness in Cahaba Heights to give us some quick tips on feeling our best in 2024.

> Easiest thing I can do to modify my diet?

Put your fork down in between bites. Eating slowly will allow you to notice when you are full. You will eat less each meal, therefore consuming less overall calories. “Mindful Eating”

> Why do some people lose belly fat faster?

Each of our bodies shed fat differently. Pay attention to overall fat loss not specific areas. Your body will decide where to shed it. We have no control over that, just stay consistent.

> The one thing you need for motivation to exercise?

Motivation doesn’t last….. Consistency and discipline are what will get you results. Stop looking for motivation and just show up.

> Is it true that it’s good to have a “cheat day” where people can eat whatever they want once a week?

It is “GOOD” to have balance. Everything in moderation. I prefer the 80/20 rule. Eat balanced, healthy meals 80% of the time. Save the 20% for special events, alcohol consumption and “cheats”. This keeps you from the feeling of deprivation.

> I’m feeling really sore. What’s the best thing to do?

Drink your water and move your body.

> How do I make exercise a habit?

Make it easy…. Find something you enjoy doing, do it with a friend and hold each other accountable.

> Do you need to stretch after your workout? Absolutely…. Static stretching is best after a workout. Stand, sit or lie still and hold a single position for up to about 45 seconds.

> Apart from working out and diet, what’s the number one thing I can do for my ‘Health’?

This one is tough… If I only have one answer I would say DRINK YOUR WATER. We don’t really realize how vital staying hydrated truly is to our bodies normal functioning.

> How long will it take to see results? It takes approximately 4-6 weeks for you to notice changes in your body. However, exercise alone is not the answer. Combining a healthy diet with exercise will always bring you the best results, quickest.

> What’s your exercise ‘motto’?

Make exercise a daily part of your life, just like brushing your teeth. You only have one body. Take care of it.

WHAT WE’RE WATCHING IN 2024

The Rainbow Bridge

One of Birmingham’s oldest bridges, this viaduct on Richard Arrington has been transporting people over the train tracks between 1st Ave South and 1st Ave North for more than 130 years. The bridge was closed in January 2022 because of structural concerns. Although safe for pedestrians, cyclists, and scooters, the bridge is not currently approved for vehicular traffic. The city is partnering with REV Birmingham to issue a request for proposals to identify viable options for the bridge’s future. In the meantime, the city and REV have installed short-term measures to beautify the bridge and make it a more pleasant place for pedestrians and cyclists.

Things to be on the lookout for in 2024.

According to James Clear who writes about habits, decision making, and continuous improvement, these are a few common beliefs people get wrong.

OVER RATED: Unrestricted Freedom

UNDER RATED: Carefully Designed Constraints

Constraints actually increase our skill development rather than restrict it. We need lines to show us where to add color, not a blank canvas to draw on.

OVER RATED: Being Busy

UNDER RATED: Doing One Thing at a Time

Being in motion is not the same thing as taking action. As a society, we have mistaken all activity as an indicator of living a busy and important life.

OVER RATED: Degrees & Credentials

UNDER RATED: Courage & Creativity

Degrees can be important. (I don’t want to be operated on by a surgeon who didn’t attend medical school.) But as someone said, “Most people need degrees because they don’t have the courage to ask for what they want.”

OVER RATED: Watching the News

UNDER RATED: Reading Old Books

Any lasting book must be filled with ideas that stand the test of time. Meanwhile, the news is filled with fleeting, usually inaccurate and misleading information.

OVER RATED: Discovering the “New” Thing

UNDER RATED: Mastering the Fundamentals

We fool ourselves into thinking that a new tactic will change the fact that we need to do the work. There really isn’t much of a secret to most things. Want to be stronger? Lift more. Want to learn a new language? Speak the language more.

3 WAYS TO GROW YOUR REAL ESTATE WEALTH

If we only had a crystal ball, we could easily predict the 2024 real estate market! But how many prognosticators have missed the trends over the last few years? While many experts, like NAR Chief Economist Lawrence Yun are predicting interest rates will ease down and listings will steadily show up, there’s reliably 3 ways to increase our real estate wealth no matter what the market does.

1) Do an In-Depth Study of Your Budget.

What if you could save up an additional 10-15% to put down on a down payment, or have enough cash on hand to pay for home improvements? Finance 101- pennies make pounds. It starts with crunching your budget, analyzing your frivolous spending habits (and subscriptions), and then making tough decisions. Is paying four figures for a dress you’ll only wear once or twice that important? And do you really need those extra items in your cart? Watch your emotional purchases and think long term.

2) Build a List of Trusted Home Improvement Professionals.

Do you own a home? Or are you renting? No matter where you are, start making a list of trusted contractors today. Pay attention when people ask for recommendations on social media and keep track of the contractors you’re happy with. Quotes can be all over the place and quality of work matters too. A handful of trusted experts could save you thousands. Start gathering names today, so when you’re ready to invest in real estate you’ll be able to move quickly.

3) Study Micro-Markets.

Start thinking about where you want to invest. Which areas do you like? Where do you spend your free time? A good deal isn’t always easy to find. Sometimes it takes patience and research. Narrow it down to streets you like in different neighborhoods. If you’re open to more places you could find a better deal. There could be a small piece of property near your house or something you’ve noticed on your way to work. Keep your eyes open and make a point to pay attention. You never know where an opportunity could pop up.

If you’d like to discuss the local real estate market, I’d love to discuss it! You can reach me at cbond@raypoynor.com.

Turning Banking

into thanking

Each day, Bryant Bankers look for ways to do our part both in and out of our offices. Service to our communities isn’t just a line in our mission statementit’s who we are. Our bankers serve on non-profit boards, support our local educators and volunteer with our hometown food banks... It’s our way of saying thanks to the non-profits who make our communities stronger. That kind of commitment to community might not be what you’d expect from a bank, but it’s exactly what you can expect from us.

5 WAYS TO STAY ENERGIZED TO ACHIEVE YOUR FITNESS GOALS

For most, we use the New Year as an opportunity to make resolutions, especially in the area of health & fitness. We’re also coming straight off of the holidays where we may have had one too many eggnogs, and added a few new unwanted lbs. So, the magic question is: how are we going to get (and stay) motivated to get in shape? Here are my top 5 ways:

1. Avoid the Rut.

Get tired of doing the same thing week after week? You’re not alone. When you’re feeling unmotivated, try something new or just change up routine. Sick of the gym? Skip it, and take a walk outside instead. Trying a new class is another way to beat the exercise rut. Often times your body gets acclimated to certain workouts if you do them a lot, so by changing it up, you keep your body guessing & using different muscles. There’s always something you can do to mix it up. Just keep the momentum going, and don’t stop.

2. Learn to Listen to Your Body. In teaching my spin class, I always say- “listen to your body,” because only you know your body. Sometimes pain can be good, like when we’re pushing ourselves to our limits, or lifting heavier than we’re used to.  Sometimes pain is bad and your body’s way of saying- “slow down, sit this one out, or stop.” The worst thing to do is ignore your body when you have pain. Fatigue pain is different than injury pain. Find your balance and resist the urge to stop or quit when it becomes hard.

3. Monitor Your Results. Nothing will keep you motivated like seeing your achievements. What is more inspirational than fitting into a new (or old) outfit? You will see results in the mirror, but you can also record them. One great way is to keep a written journal. Write down your gains or losses so you can measure your progress over time. Or if you’re techie, connect to Strava and it will keep track of all your deets for you. My Fitness Pal is another great app to record your food intake, workouts and progress.

4. Get Enough Sleep. You can’t achieve your goals if you’re exhausted all day. Lack of sleep is something that has become too familiar in our high-tech, high-pace lifestyles. Start by going to bed just 30 minutes earlier. Adequate sleep is our body’s natural way to recover and recharge for the next day. It gives your muscles time to repair and get stronger.

5. Stretch. Very few people do it as much as they should. It’s my #1 way to avoid injuries. Plus, it relaxes the body and relieves stress. Stretching helps elongate muscles and increases blood flow, enabling them to work more effectively. This will not only improve physical performance in workouts or sports, your daily activities will benefit too! Want fewer aches & pains? Stretch!

ADVENTURES IN

DIETING

NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS JUST GET ON MY NERVES

New Year, New Me … or whatever.

So, fun fact about this #carnigirl: I lovelove a rule, hate-hate robotic rule-following. Stick with me (you always do. Thank you.)

I deeply appreciate and respect a wellthought, well-intentioned guideline - the kind that work toward the well-being and betterment of individuals and community as a whole. Traffic laws, for example. They keep us safe. Follow them.

Mindless compliance with cultural standards or norms, like the “New Year resolution” just gets on my nerves.

While I do love a resolute go-get-em-tiger approach to a new goal, pushing the start line to the turn of the new year seems a little silly. What if we started our resolutions TODAY? What if we momentum’d the moment, instead of the future? What if *now* was the perfect time, and *this* was the perfect starting point? What if for 2023 we decide to not phone-in our wellness efforts here at the end, and instead jump-start “new us” and 2024 early?

I propose we do away with the resolution deadline. Let’s not chalk December and the holiday season up to “bulking season” and “gains”, slathering on sarcasm with a sprinkling of nervous laughter as we drink and eat ourselves right past merry and bright, and into swollen and tight.

I propose we approach this day with the same gusto we promise to approach January 1, 2024. Start the thing. Take the step. Make the call. Join the gym. Prep the meals. Push away second rounds, extra desserts, and bottomless bevs.

It’s too short, this life. 2023 take-away is balance: unhealthy enough to be happy; healthy enough to be well. We can find it today.

Henceforth and forevermore, we shall make new day resolutions, throwing open the door with each sunrise and welcoming the opportunity to resolutely run in the direction of healthy and happy.

HYPERDILLUTE RADIESSE

3

Radiesse is a biostimulatory dermal filler that can provide immediate volume, structure, and support in areas of volume loss. Over time it stimulates the body to produce collagen which makes our skin tighter and youthful. Stimulate collagen, improve texture, and tighten the skin with a customizable amount of Radiesse. We love that results are immediate and continue to improve over several months.

How It Works

When Radiesse is in the diluted form, it no longer provides instant volume, rather it stimulates new collagen growth and improves the texture, elasticity, and appearance of your skin! It can be used in the face, neck, upper arms, hands, knees and more where you are experiencing loose or sagging skin! Collagen is the main structural protein in our skin. It’s what helps it feel and look tight, taught, and youthful.

Committed to Community

Meet some of Birmingham’s Charitable Changemakers.

In a city full of warmth and community spirit, Birmingham’s charitable organizations serve as beacons of hope, rallying for causes close to the heart of its residents. These foundations— forged from personal stories of struggle, inspiration, and a distinct desire to serve—carry the mantle of compassion and change. Local charities symbolize the collective commitment to uplift, support, and advocate for causes that deeply resonate with our city’s residents. These organizations bridge gaps, heal wounds, and foster a profound sense of unity among its people. Their presence and efforts signify a shared endeavor toward a better tomorrow. As part of our annual Charity issue, we wanted to spotlight just a handful of organizations who make our city one of the most charitable in the country.

The Amanda Pair Foundation stands at the intersection of empathy and action, driven by a resolute belief that no family should endure the harrowing journey of cancer alone. Named in honor of Amanda Pair, this foundation represents a beacon of hope for those confronting the challenges of lung cancer and ROS-1 cancers, echoing Amanda’s courageous fight against this debilitating disease.

The foundation employs a holistic three-pronged strategy—caring for families, funding crucial research, and investing in the next generation. They diligently focus on not only the medical aspects but also the practical, everyday needs of families battling cancer, such as childcare, meals, and vital expenses.

“We knew that if we did things the way Amanda would do, we would be successful and help a lot of people.”

F3 Birmingham: Catalyzing Male Community Leadership

The F3 Birmingham Foundation, an extension of the broader F3 movement, epitomizes a unified force propelling community causes and nurturing male leadership. Their journey, rooted in grassroots philanthropy, is a testament to the immense power of collective action and shared responsibility.

With a mission centered on “planting, growing, and serving small workout groups for men for the invigoration of male community leadership,” the F3 Birmingham Foundation actively seeks and supports local causes, providing crucial assistance to families navigating loss, supporting educational programs, and offering positive male influence in vulnerable communities.

Beginning with a compelling initiative that raised $25k for a family facing tragedy, the foundation’s trajectory has evolved steadily. Inspired by this success, the focus shifted toward amplifying their impact on communities, particularly by offering role models and positive male influences in the lives of children.

One touching effort involved collaborating with The Lovelady Center, where F3 participants mentored children and provided sporting goods, aiming to be positive role models for children without male role models in their lives.

Their commitment is towards a more intentional and impactful approach to causes aligned with their mission, empowering men within F3 Birmingham to lead initiatives that drive tangible change within their communities.

How to Get Involved:

F3 encourages men to get involved. For F3 participants, involvement in this collective mission fosters community impact, while for others, aligning with causes that resonate with the movement’s principles becomes a pivotal step towards fostering collective change.

Amanda Pair’s profound legacy forms the bedrock of this foundation. Her husband, brother, and best friend—Allen, Matthew, and Michelle, respectively—lead with unwavering dedication, guided by Amanda’s indomitable spirit and principles of integrity, reliability, intentionality, and attention to detail.

In a brief span of two years, the foundation has orchestrated three impactful annual events, garnering enthusiastic support from the community and local businesses. They’ve transformed lives by directly assisting families—covering mortgage payments during treatments, facilitating necessary home repairs, and providing wigs to individuals facing cancer battles.

Amanda Pair’s focus for the upcoming year centers on amplifying their “caring for families” pillar. They aim to deepen their impact by addressing the practical needs of families while continuing their robust support for research and scholarships.

How to Get Involved:

Community members and businesses are welcomed to participate in events, contribute professional skills, or sponsor initiatives, playing an integral role in fortifying the foundation’s reach and impact.

The Rotaract Club of Birmingham: Cultivating Future Civic Leaders

The Rotaract Club of Birmingham serves as the grooming ground for emerging civic leaders, shaping a group of young professionals devoted to serving and uplifting the community. Their focus revolves around education, particularly through their Ready2Read and Ready2Succeed programs, aiming to foster literacy and guide students toward brighter futures.

With a motto encompassing learning, socializing, and serving, the Rotaract Club channels its efforts into Ready2Read and Ready2Succeed programs. The former aims to bolster early literacy skills, while the latter focuses on guiding high schoolers through college applications, life skills, and providing scholarships.

Originating with the Ready2Read initiative in 2009, the club invested time in Birmingham City Schools, fostering a love for reading and critical thinking. The Ready2Succeed program, launched in 2014, seeks to bridge gaps in post-secondary education opportunities for Birmingham students.

The Club’s College Signing Day stands as a beacon of celebration for students, commemorating their achievements and offering scholarships. The creation of the Jaylen Clark Memorial Scholarship, born out of loss, stands as a testament to their dedication to supporting students.

The primary goal remains clear: reach more students, and raise funds to make a profound difference in the lives of Birmingham students.

How to Get Involved:

Community members are encouraged to donate, attend the Foundation Ball, or consider membership, offering young professionals a platform to develop leadership skills while actively impacting Birmingham’s future.

Rotaract mobilizes its members to foster responsible citizenship and catalyze positive change by offering unparalleled opportunities to learn from diverse leaders, bond with committed young professionals, and serve the Birmingham community and beyond.

The Reed Foundation: Pioneers in GI Cancer Research and Patient Care

Founded in 2002, the Robert E. Reed Gastrointestinal Oncology Research Foundation stands as a beacon of hope and determination in the fight against GI cancers. The foundation is committed to rais ing awareness, garnering financial support, and catalyzing advance ments in research and patient care. It’s a pivotal force in addressing the dire need for funding that has hampered the development of treatments for various GI cancers, including pancreatic, colorectal, esophageal, and more.

GI cancers are among the most prevalent and fatal forms of cancer, posing significant challenges due to limited funding and research. The Foundation relentlessly advocates for increased awareness, par ticularly focusing on the critical importance of early detection and interventions. With the recommended age for colonoscopy lowered to 45 from 50, their initiatives highlight the urgency of early screen ings to combat colorectal cancer, aiming to tackle what has become the second most common cause of cancer deaths in the U.S.

Robert E. Reed’s personal battle with pancreatic cancer became the catalyst for the Foundation’s inception. Before his passing, Reed entrusted his sons with a mission: “Finish the Fight.” This mantra became the Foundation’s guiding principle, infusing every endeavor with a sense of urgency and commitment to conquering GI cancers.

The Reed family’s dedication to turning personal tragedy into transformative change has resonated deeply within Birmingham. With a robust Junior Board comprising over a hundred young professionals and a dedicated Women’s Committee, the Foundation has woven a tight-knit community passionate about their mission. Through partnerships and collaborations, they’ve garnered substantial support from corporate sponsors and a vast network of supporters, channeling their collective energy into sizable fundraising efforts.

To date, the Foundation has directed more than $1.8 million toward GI cancer research and patient care initiatives. This impressive contribution is a testament to their unwavering commitment to accelerating the discovery of treatments and ultimately finding a cure. Their annual fundraising event, aptly named “Finish the Fight,” has become a rallying point, attracting hundreds of supporters eager to contribute to this noble cause.

The Reed family has turned a personal tragedy into hope for others. It’s this type of generosity that characterizes the city of Birmingham and its people.

Looking ahead, the Foundation’s goal remains unwavering: to continue raising awareness, funds, and support for GI cancer research and patient care. They aspire to expand their outreach, engaging and empowering those affected by GI cancers to join the fight and contribute to the Foundation’s collective efforts in “Finishing the Fight.”

How to Get Involved:

Those impacted by GI cancer or passionate about this cause are encouraged to reach out to the Reed Foundation, contributing their support, resources, and stories. It’s an invitation to be part of a community dedicated to bringing hope and progress to those battling GI cancers and their families.

Seclusion in the Middle of Everything

This historic log cabin sits on a double lot on the crest of Shades Mountain.

Ever dreamed of owning a piece of history? This historic log cabin sits on a double lot on the crest of Shades Mountain. Erected in 1938, this cabin was the vision of North Carolina natives, the Krawchecks, who dreamed of having a mountain home just outside the city. They painstakingly searched for someone who knew how to fasten the logs cut from their property intricately together; finally locating an old cabinetmaker and former shipbuilder. The master bedroom features tongue and groove walls and closets are cedar-lined. A separate apartment with kitchenette in the basement is perfect for an au pair or in law suite. Walk to the elementary school, grocery, church & other Bluff Park favorites. Metal roof, Pergola, the coolest screened porch in Birmingham and an acre of outdoor places to enjoy, this home is shockingly private and an entertainer’s paradise all at the same time!

Erected in 1938, this cabin was a vision of original owners Abe S. and Marie Krawcheck, who dreamed of having a Summer retreat on the crest of Shades Mountain. A North Carolina native, Mr. Krawcheck was inspired to design a home similar to mountain lodges from his home state. The Krawchecks painstakingly searched for someone who knew how to fasten the logs cut from their property intricately together; finally locating an old cabinetmaker and former shipbuilder who boasted he could build a log cabin. And that, he did.

Very soon, the Krawchecks, along with their son Michael, made this labor of love their year-round residence. Wheels from an old abandoned wagon on the property were removed from the wagon bed and fastened onto the porch. The main room in the home, which combines both living and dining areas, is 40 feet long and 20 feet wide. As with the other rooms in the cabin, it is pine-paneled and has a beamed ceiling. Hanging from the ceiling is an ox yoke, which was one of Mr. Krawcheck’s “finds”. One of the first pieces Mr. Krawcheck acquired was this poplar dining room table. It was handmade to Mr. Krawcheck’s specifications. In 1952, Mr. Krawcheck added an office with a double pane bay window and sunroom featuring a stone floor. Mrs. Krawcheck opened the home in 1962 to visitors at the annual Antiques and Allied Arts Association home pilgrimage tour during the Festival of the Arts.

It was a common occurrence for people passing through the bluff to stop at the property and ask if it were a hunting lodge.

It was a common occurrence for people passing through the bluff to stop at the property and ask if it were a hunting lodge. Herschel Quincy Krawcheck, world-traveler and beloved dog of the manor, was known to dislike large crowds and valued the peace and quiet the cabin offers. Take a moment and listen: you hear absolutely zero road noise. You can see his final resting place at the base of the steps, where he is resting quietly. The walls in the primary bedroom are tongue and groove and the closets are cedar-lined.

Mr. Krawcheck was an investor, journalist and was known to be a scholar who was extremely knowledgeable about many things. Ironically, the second owner, Jack Barnacastle, who purchased the home when Krawcheck died in 1977, was an educator, renowned swimming coach and was also known to be a scholar who was extremely knowledgeable about many things. In another twist of fate, Barnacastle was the swim coach of Krawcheck’s granddaughter.

Mr. Barnacastle added a room in the vast attic storage space and made an apartment in the basement for his brother. In 1984, Mr. Barnacastle added the screened porch and den.

The property is shockingly private and peaceful, and boasts one of the very best views of the sunset in all of Birmingham.

Walk out the door and take a stroll to the elementary school, the grocery and various Bluff Park favorite spots. This historical property is truly a treasure.

MICHELLETUBINI S WORK UAB

MOTIVATION

Amanda and I had an easy, everyday kind of friendship, and she was my “go-to” for everything. When she was diagnosed, I stayed right by her side, my medical background equipping me to be part of her home healthcare team. After the initial shock of losing Amanda, her husband Allen brought up the idea of starting the foundation, and it was an easy yes for me. I knew this was how I could honor her life, help others, and stay connected to my beloved friend.

POSITIVE TAKEAWAYS

The community rallied around the Pair family during Amanda’s illness, and it made an immense difference for all of us who were close to her. Inspired by this experience, we have developed our foundation’s identity as a non-profit that cares generously for families fighting cancer. We’re encouraged by the outpouring of support from the Birmingham community as both those who knew Amanda and those who didn’t have stepped up to be part of our work to overcome cancer.

GOOD TASTE GOOD TASTE

“Champagne for my real friends, and real pain for my sham friends.”
– SIR WINSTON CHURCHILL (maybe)

There is nothing quite like sparkling wine. Notice the usage of the phrase “sparkling wine,” as opposed to the word Champagne. The French, and especially the folks in Champagne, are very particular about the usage of the word Champagne. As they are very quick to tell us, <imagine a strong French accent here> “One may only call it CHAMPAGNE if it comes from the Champagne region of France.”

The rest of the world uses the word Champagne much like we use the words Coke, Band-Aid, Kleenex, ChapStick, Google, Jell-O, or Xerox. The internet calls the word “genericization.” For example, when we order a Coke in the South we are often asked to specify which beverage we seek. But there is only one Coke. Same thing with Champagne. We often ask for Champagne but we really just mean a Sparkling wine.

Here is a list of bubblies we recommend, hopefully something for any budget. And don’t worry, these are among the very best options we’ve found for their respective prices.

ITALIAN PROSECCO

Ostro Brut, DOC

We love this one because it is a great DRY Prosecco. Some Prosecchi (the correct Italian plural for Prosecco) can be unnecessarily sweet. But this Ostro is not only dry (only four grams per liter of sugar) it is also excellent.

SPANISH CAVA

Naveran Brut, DO Cava is made in the same method as the originators in Champagne, but with different grapes. Cava is our favorite option for a good Mimosa. Grab some Natalie’s orange jucie and mix with this certified organic Cava to have the best beverage on Saturday or Sunday morning.

The usage of the word Champagne is restricted by a European Union law known as Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) or Appellation d’Origine Protégée (AOP) as the French would prefer. This means that other sparkling wines may not, legally, be referred to as Champagne. The Italians have Prosecco, the Spanish have Cava, and the list goes on.

When someone asks for a bottle of Champagne, we first inquire about a budget. Real Champagne starts around $40 and can go well above $1,000. As often as not, folks just are seeking a sparkling wine. But… some occasions merit a true, real, wonderful bottle of the original bubbly. Some occasions call for Champagne.

We advocate Champagne as often as you can manage it, but we are quick to suggest a Cava, Prosecco, or a sparkling wine from the good old U. S. of A. There ain’t nothing quite like hearing a celebratory pop (or gentle shush) from a bottle of Champagne when you are living the good life.

CHAMPAGNE – Gosset

AMERICAN SPARKLING - Schramsberg or Mirabelle

These are the true “original” American bubblies. Schramsberg has been served in the White House for most every State function since the Nixon administration showed it off in 1972. Mirabelle is Schramsberg’s “little brother” and likely the best domestic bubbly for the money.

GRAND MARQUE CHAMPAGNE

Sir Winston Churchill from Pol Roger Again, this might not be as well known, but this is *the* Champagne to get if you could only have one. Sir Winston Churchill knew his booze, and this is a legendary bottle befitting a legendary person.

From one of the oldest houses in all of Champagne, this is a knockout. You may not be familiar with this one, but it has been incredibly popular when tasted “blind” against some of the usual suspects. This is your real deal Champagne. It will impress you as well as your guests.

The Pig was recently voted as The Best Place to Buy Wine in Birmingham for the 5th year in row. Our knowledgeable staff is happy to help you with any question, and make any suggestion based on your personal tastes and budget.
