Nav Bharat Udyan Iconic Structure Course - Urban Design Type - Iconic Structure Location - Nav Bharat Udyan,New Delhi

“Nav bharat udyan ”

Nav Bharat Udyan, also known as the Nav Bharat Udyan Park, is a popular park located in Delhi, India. This park is a well-known recreational and green space in the city, offering a respite from the urban environment.It lies straight to the rajpath line of delhi ,so the indian government planned on designing an iconic structure at the site of nav bharat udyan and entries were welcomed from architects and designers.

Its an Urban Design project done on the 8th semester of my bachelor degree at delhi.

The site has athe major accessibility from the 28 m wide road .Nearest railway station is pragati maidan railway station and nearest metro station is Indraprastha metro station which is just 1km from the site.The site is located in a prime spot and has a enomorous number of footfall.

According to the byelaws the setbacks are 15m at the front 10 m at both side and 30m at the back because of the yamuna river bank..Also has vehicle resirtctions to a limit inside the site ,so provided enough parking spaces near the entrance to the site.

Concept

Wheels of life ‘Wheels of Life’,here the idea is to built an iconic structure which exhibit the importance of life balance wheel through its structure itself.

The whole building structure is inspired from the whole human body.Each chakra which symbolises each focal point of the body becomes each focal part of the building.

The seven chakras1.Crown chakra(Sahasrara) - top of the head 2.Third eye chakra(Ajna) -eye 3.Throat chakra(Vishudhha) -space 4.Heart chakra(Anahata) -centre 5.Solar plexus chakra(Manipura)-confidence 6.Sacral chakra(Svadhishtana) -emotions 7.Root chakra(Muladhara) -earth

Symbolises the innovation and evolution of the country from the roots which also shows the energy allocation throughout the whole structural body.

Basically this idea was used in constructing temples and monumental buildings according to vastushastra.

Habitat Center Hyderabad Course - Thesis Project Type - Assembly Buildings Location - Khanmet,Hyderabad

Habitat Centre is a place of formal assembly for a common purpose. Hyderabad Habitat Centre(HHC) is proposed to be developed on a 11-acre site at Khanamet, which belongs to HMDA.Located near to High-tech City & Yashoda Hospitals.

The centre is meant for the promotion of heritage, art and culture. It is an exclusive and permanent facility which will host social and cultural events. Being located close to Hyderabad International Trade Expositions Ltd. (HITEX), the HHC project would be a complementary facility.

Objectives of HHC: • To promote heritage and art of Hyderabad.

• It focuses on creating an integrated public and private building in the IT sector of Hyderabad • To increase the land value of the khanamet • It would be a common social and economic platform for local people and provide many opportunities along with it.

• Adjacency to shilparamam can also make it a potential tourist spot.

“A DESIGN APPROACH ENHANCING THE ROOTS AND VEINS..”

Designing habitat center means designing a hub to enhance or exhibit the heritage and culture of the location. The title of the introduction means that a habitat center designing at khanamet, Hyderabad will be exhibiting the local cultural importance such as the language,dresscode,foodstyle, local categorization of residents etc.. and showcasing the local heritage through the center.

For that the designer have to study through the roots and veins of the location and should have a proper understanding and knowledge about that.

Auditorium is having a maximum seating capacity of 300 persons with size calculation dona according to 0.8 sqm per person.Having a total area of 2560 sqm with 1300 in ground floor and 1260 in first floor.

Convention hall has audio visual conferencing equipment, facility for high fidelity recording, video projection/ video graphs etc. And skilled manpower at various levels.

HHC contain a main foodcourt near the plaza with multiple cafes.Well arranges a planned shelter spots were given near and around the foodcourt which re designed with the hexagonal concept.

Materials used in these are concrete ,steel wood,perforated and translucent fibre sheets.The base of the structural supports are detachable and adjustable accordingly.Also act as a cross station.

Nest The Compact Home Course - Self Designed Working Project Type - Residence Location - Kasaragod,Kerala

“A home for a nuclear family..”

‘Nest’,is an ongoing residence project designed by myself under the supervision of a licensed civil engineer.Its a compact home designed for the nuclear family of client includes his wife and one child.

The client Mr.and Mrs.Pradosh approached me with a vision to create their dream home - a compact with modern vernacular touch that blends harmoniously with the natural surroundings. The site’s unique location on a secluded hillside overlooking a vast area of greenary offers the perfect canvas for a stunning architectural masterpiece that celebrates both form and function. The whole project was designed considering vastu principles.

The total builtup area of the project is 2800 square feet,which includes four bedrooms with two of them bath attached,formal and informal living room combined in a single one,dining space,kitchen and a common toilet.

This project gave me a huge leap in the learning curve of practical knowledge in the architecture.Client discussion and decision making,handling tight timeline,correcting and learning form mistakes and observation on tiny details been an important factor for me throughout the project

GF includes a living room,pooja room,dining room attached to kitchen,Master bedroom on southwest corner and a guest bedroom .Living room is double heighted inorder to complete the air movement and get ample sunlight inside.

There is a clear height of 2.3m under the staircase giving a space for planning a common toilet.

In the staircase treads are 30cm and risers are 15 cm which area ideal for a residential building.

While the main landing after the first flight is designed with rcc slab the staircase is fabricated one with wooden panel on the steel supports .

Commercial Space Kottarakara Course - Internship Project Type - Commercial wih Residential Building Location - Kottarakara,Kerala

“Designing a Commercial cum Residential space”

This project is located in kottarakara kerala,sees forward on designing a Commercial cum residential space for the client Mr.Ponnachan.The building contains total of five floors including basement ans a seperate parking area near the basement.

The main benifits of a commercial cum Residential space are: 1.Diverse land use 2.Vibrant communities increasing foot traffic.

3.Increase in property values.

4.Reduction in commuting. etc..

The design considerations were taken accordingly to the needs and preferences of both residents and commercial tenants. Noise, privacy, and access to shared spaces have be carefully considered. Designing this apartment building with ground-floor retail shops, office buildings with residential lofts, was a tough task for the design team with budget under consideration.I had several site visits with the main design team ,senior architect and the structural engineer and got the chance to note down the detailing in the structural part of the construction.

The apartment building is five storied with a basement and seperate car parking for the residence and commercial purpose.

The location is in a main road side so that high foot traffic is expected to the buiding.The building is east faced and facing towards the main access to the site.

Each floors were having 3.3 m clear height and ground floor having 4m.Parking are alloted at the rear side of the builidng seperately for the residence and commercial tenants.Staircases and lifts are provided inside the building for the easier circulation.

Commercial spaces are allocated in the ground floor ,basement and first floor of the building.Main spaces are engages by office spaces,specific brand shops and retail shops. Amenities such as parking, security, access to public transportation are taken into prior consideration while design and it reflects in the result.

Main access to public transport in just infront of the building near to the main road and has a busstationalso.

Residential spaces are in the second and third floor only .And they have special access to the rooftop considering the commecial users are limited in the entry.

Parking spaces for the residences are allocated aside the other parking space but seperately.

Design and interior of the rooms are budget friendly.

This concept of mix use space designing was challenging at the design part but worthy after the completion with lots of benifits as discussed earlier.
