Content This course, combined with your ABE Diplomas, will give you a thorough understanding of modern business and management practice at a local, national and international level. The online distance learning model provides the flexibility of choosing when and where to study. It's a programme designed to fit around your work and personal commitments. However, interacting with other students and tutors is still important, so this flexibility is combined with online discussions, podcasts and synchronised sessions, where possible. To keep you on track, assessments are also scheduled at specific times. There are a total of eight 15 credit modules, delivered as follows: Sem Seme Seme

Enrolling onto the BA (Hons) Business Administration (top-up): Start by speaking to your centre. ABE centres are working in partnership with ABE and UH to administer this programme. They are on hand to help and, whilst the teaching of the programme will be done through the UH portal, they can offer you invaluable pastoral and academic support. Some centres may prefer to use ABE's online payment system and this is also useful for older alumni, who may have self-studied in the past or are unable to access their ABE study centre. In this instance, go to the ABE WUGlobalPay page for step 1 of the enrolment process. Here's the link: https://student.globalpay.wu.com/geo-buyer/abe?#!/ Learners from the Caribbean need to contact info@abeuk.com for their form. Here's how the process works

Register and pay top-up fee through your ABE centre or WUGlobalPay. Please note, the fee must be paid in full in order for registration to be processed.

'I accept' "Offer - student number - First name, Family name" Send to: online-degrees@herts.ac.uk

Finally as part of your stage 1 registration, you will need to upload a photo ID and complete Stage 1 registration as per the guidance provided in the email. At the end of the process, you will become ‘Self- registered’ on the programme of study, which will generate the Confirmation of Stage 1 Registration email. At this stage, you will be sent an email to complete a Stage 2 registration which will enrol you onto the modules.

Alternative entry scenarios The usual route to the top-up is the 120 credit ABE Level 4 RQF Diploma followed by ABE Level 5 RQF Diploma, however we recognised not everyone follows a typical pathway so here are some alternative scenarios. I have an ABE Level 6 qualification There are no additional exemptions, but Level 6 students have the academic advantage of having studied at the level required for the degree. You will still need a 120 credit Level 5 qualification. I have an ABE Level 5 qualification, but my Level 4 qualification is not from ABE If your L4 qualification is from a valid organisation, this can be accepted - with your ABE L5 for entry onto the top-up. UH would typically be looking for you to have achieved 120 credits at Level 4. My qualifications are not from ABE, can I still access the top-up This top-up is exclusively for ABE qualification holders. You will need a minimum of an ABE Level 5 or 6 (if you hold a L4 or 5 120 credit qualification from another organisation). I have an ABE Level 5 qualification but I do not hold any Level 4 qualification To progress onto the UH top-up it is expected that students would normally hold two 120 credit qualifications. If you hold a L5 but no L4, we recommend you enrol on an ABE L6 Diploma as this will provide the best preparation for the top-up (alternatively you can enrol for L4). I have an older ABE qualification The University of Hertfordshire has mapped its degree against ABE's RQF framework, so it would normally require a minimum of one ABE RQF 120 Level 5 or 6 qualification. If you have older qualifications, please email info@abeuk.com with details of your qualifications and work experience for further advice.

More essential information! English language requirements In addition to ABE qualifications, you will need sufficient English language skills to cope with the level of study necessary to complete the online top-up degree. Local English qualifications are accepted from many countries. You can see the full list on the URL: www.abeuk.com/learners/ba-language Retakes If you do not pass a unit you will be allowed one extra submission at no charge. How does this degree compare to a UH campus degree Your qualification certification will be the same as any other University of Hertfordshire degree certificate.

Technology requirements Basic IT skills are a requirement for anyone wishing to study online. For example, confidence using an internet browser, communicating by email and using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) or equivalent. Students will need access to a suitable computer and an internet connection. Here is a checklist:

Desktop or laptop computer Display (min screen resolution 1024 x 768) Headset with microphone (built in if using laptop) Broadband internet connection (2mbps min) Don't forget, ABE centres can provide academic and pastoral support so do speak to your local provider if access technology is difficult.
