THE ANNUAL FUND IN ACTION Fostering Tomorrow’s Leaders This past year, donor support helped fund two cornerstone leadership experiences—sending four Middle School delegates to the CAIS Leadership Conference in Calgary and ten High School students to the BC Student Leadership Conference in Delta. From exploring empathy and courage in Banff to engaging in workshops on personal leadership styles and conscious decision-making, our Gryphons joined peers from across Canada to sharpen their skills. Ultimately, supporting the Annual Fund is an investment in our school’s daily culture: these inspired delegates returned equipped to launch a studentled Impact Project and lead their peers back in our hallways with confidence, character, and vision.

THE ANNUAL FUND IN ACTION Ready to Roll This past year, donor support helped launch a major new asset for our school community—bringing our very own Aberdeen Hall school bus to campus. Driven by rising thirdparty transportation costs, this strategic investment eliminates scheduling constraints and rental overhead, allowing our administration to say “yes” to more off-campus field trips, athletic events, and leadership retreats. Made possible through the Annual Fund alongside Gala pledges and our Parent Guild, this new mobile classroom complete with our own dedicated driver ensures our Gryphons can step outside the classroom more frequently and transform real-world experiences into purposeful action for years to come.

THE ANNUAL FUND IN ACTION Behind the Screens This past year, donor support helped strengthen the invisible digital foundation holding our campus together by upgrading our network infrastructure and transitioning Google Workspace to the high-security Plus tier. This behind-the-scenes investment unified our network hardware to deliver seamless Wi-Fi while giving our IT team advanced tools to block cyber threats and protect sensitive student data. Beyond cybersecurity, these upgrades provide our faculty with safe, private environments to explore AI tools and interactive practice sets to support student learning. Ultimately, supporting the Annual Fund ensures our digital campus remains as secure, reliable, and ready for the future as the physical one our Gryphons walk through every day.

TYPES OF DONATIONS One-Time/Cash Donations: This includes all gifts made by cheque, credit card (online), or electronic transfer, providing an immediate impact. Monthly Gifts: A convenient option to spread your contributions and provide ongoing, reliable support to the school throughout the year. Pledges: Multi-year pledges allow you to reach larger philanthropic goals by spreading a significant contribution over a set period (e.g., two to five years). Company Matching: A way to double your impact! Many companies offer programs that match charitable donations made by their employees. Donors should check with their HR department to obtain the necessary form and submit their match request. Gifts-in-Kind: Non-cash donations of property (e.g., equipment, art, supplies) that the school can use or sell. Gifts of Securities/Stock/Mutual Funds: This is a simple and highly tax-effective way of making a donation. With a gift of publicly traded securities, the donor receives a tax credit for the full fair market value and is exempt from capital gains tax. Planned Gifts/Legacy Giving: Leaving a Legacy Gift is a powerful way to ensure your commitment to inspiring future generations of Aberdeen Hall students endures. These gifts, such as bequests in a will, gifts of life insurance, or gifts of registered funds (RRSPs/RRIFs).
