SKI VAIL MOUNTAIN

Vail Mountain is the largest Ski Resort in the United States and it features an open air chairlit access to Vail Mountain for snowboarding and skiing. The chairlift is on the hotel’s property, located near the ski rentals, valet, concierge, and lift tickets office. Purchasing your lift tickets or EPIC Pass in advance is highly recommended.

The two airports in the area are Denver International Airport and Eagle County Regional Airport. Majority of the flights fly into Denver, located approximately 2 hours from the resort. Eagle County Regional Airport, located approximately 45 minutes from the resort, has one direct flight from NY per day and a number of flights with stopovers. Once you have landed at the airport, expect it to take some time to retrieve your luggage and rent a car should you decide to do so.

Shuttles, Uber and car services are all available in Vail, but guests are advised to rent a car to make the most of the area’s many activities and outdoor adventures.

What car services are available?

There are a number of car services in the area. Vess Limousines comes highly recommended and you are able to book either by contacting them directly or by contacting the concierge at the Grand Hyatt Resort and they will book it for you.

What time zone is Vail in?

Vail is in Mountain Time Zone, which is 2 hours behind Eastern Standard Time.

What time is check in / check out?

Check in time is 4:00 pm and check out is 11:00 am.

Do I have to pay for parking?

Will babysitting be available?

The Grand Hyatt Vail offers valet parking at a cost of $55/overnight stay.

KMR staff of frum babysitters are available from 10:00 am - 12:00 am and can be booked through the babysitter coordinator. Babysitters are paid directly by the hour.

What amenities are offered at the resort?

All guest rooms offer free internet access, a 47’ flat screen HDTV, Keurig coffeemaker, access to online newspaper, blackout drapes, and luxury linens. The hotel offers laundry and dry cleaning service, electric vehicle charging, shuttle service to Vail Village and Lionshead, a spa, fitness center, heated pools, hot tubs, and a concierge dedicated to helping you with all your needs.

Is the resort ski in/ski out?

Yes, the resort is a ski in / ski out. There is a chairlift, Cascade Village #20, that takes you directly from the hotel to Vail Mountain.

Where on the Mountain does the chairlift take me?

The chairlift #20 takes you to the Front-Side of the Mountain. From there, you can access the runs and the other chairlifts. If you would like to plan your skiing excursion, maps of the mountain are available on vail.com

Are lift passes included?

Lift passes are bought separately through vail.com.

Where can I rent ski equipment?

The resort has an on-site ski rental shop called Venture Sports and they highly recommend that you book in advance. All Grand Hyatt guests receive a 10% discount as well as an additional 10% off if you book online ahead of time.

Where can I book a ski or snowboard lesson? What other activities are available besides skiing?

Lessons can be booked for you or your children, either with a group or private, with Vail Ski School through vail.com.

There are a wide range of other winter sports available besides for skiing such as snowmobile tours, ice skating, snowshoes, snow tubing, ice fishing, fly fishing, sleigh rides, and Nordic activities.. If you prefer to explore the mountain in the warmth, you can book a gondola ride or a snow coach tour.

How would I go about booking the activities?

The concierge is available and happy to help you plan and book your adventures both in and out of the resort.

What is KMR’s cancellation policy?

Guests’ non-refundable deposits serve as confirmation of their reservations. Because unforeseen circumstances can arise. KMR recommends that guests purchase Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) travel insurance to cover those possibilities.
