AMMAN CULTURAL FORUM

Graduation Project | Spring 2023 | Cultural

Location : Jordan, Amman

Amman, celebrated for its cultural heritage, faces a critical challenge amid rapid urbanization. Traditional cultural spaces, once vibrant hubs, have succumbed to car-centric infrastructure, diminishing their appeal and eroding the city’s identity. To address this, a proposed architectural project aims to create transitional living spaces that bridge Amman’s history and future by reimagining traditional public areas in a contemporary manner, leveraging spatial memory to reconnect with the past. The project. Located in Ras Al-Ain, symbolizes downtown Amman by linking the contemporary Cultural Strip and traditional Jabal Al Akhdar. Initially conceived as a cultural center but now a weekend market, the site remains deserted during the week. The design respects Amman Downtown’s character, employing fragmented blocks, traditional materials like stone, and modern elements such as glass and steel louvres. It recreates the unique Ammani alley experience, blending hidden and overt spaces with solid walls leading to open urban pockets encouraging engagement.

The site is located in Amman city. it’s proposed to be Ras Al-Ain. the site is located in very active area ,The sorrounding area is very dense and highly populated area. the area is at the intersection between the past and future of amman, located in the cultural sector of Amman the site is located in very important and have a high potential but it’s dealing with the site as an unregulated popular market that opens two days a week and not give the site its value..

Location : Jordan, Zarqa

The Twin Tower Educational Hospital in Hashemite University in Zarqa, Jordan is a cutting-edge facility that combines medical care with education. The twin towers house state-of-theart medical facilities and classrooms for students in the healthcare field. The design is modern and efficient, creating a welcoming environment for patients and students.

The site is located in desert area, so i need to reflect the psychological concept of oasis (from suffering to comfort) by making the patient feel relax and stresa relief when they enter the hospital. and that by reflect the oasis in the heart of project (main node and circulation path )

The project is located in hashemite distrect in Zarqa, the project is a housing project that Consists of four diffrent type of houses, civic center, and open spaces.

The project aim to create dynamic urban design is aims to adapting the changing element that make urban environment, so I want to create an active neighbrhood that have a dynamic situation. because its important to the user to acheive comfort and harmony with environment. Integeration of the concept of dynamic neighbrhood and the concept of the green neighbrhood by:

- Reflect the concpet of green of the City as a main node.

- Thinking of the main path that reflect the dynamic charcter as a green heart for neighbrhood and linking of all network to main path.

PEPSI LAGON ECOLOGICAL PARK

The selected site hosts the infamous Rusaifa Pepsi Lagoon (pool), which is a cesspit that suffered for many years from contamination with industrial and domestic wastewater. The site is in a highly populated and industrialised area of east Rusaifa. Community residing in the area around the Pepsi Lagoon . endured foul odours, mosquitos, and multiple incidents of drowning in the stagnant water in the pool.

Project is an ecological park that offer large, interconnected landscapes that are naturalistic with a great focus on nature conservation (ecosystems protection), special care of vegetation, and environmental potentials like reducing watering and enhancing nature

RUM RETREAT

Location : Jordan, Rum Valley

The Retreat is located in Rum Valley in jordan, The design prioritizes the preservation of natural beauty and the rich heritage of the site while supporting the nation’s long-term tourist, cultural, and economic goals for the region.

The retreat features 20 tented suites. The public areas include restaurant, as well as a luxury spa. The signature swimming pool sits in a natural crevice in the rocks, reminiscent of the Wadis which appears at the foot of the cliffs during rain spells.
