A Reflection on the Past Year and a Look Ahead As I reflect on this past year, I am reminded of the extraordinary strength, creativity, and heart that define our wedding industry. From the planners who redesigned entire events overnight to the educators who continue to raise new leaders, to the travel professionals navigating an ever-changing world, each of you has shown resilience that inspires me daily. 2025 has been a landmark year for the Association of Bridal Consultants. We celebrated big wins, launched new programs, welcomed new members, and continued to build a community rooted in collaboration and purpose. Most importantly, we strengthened the connections that remind us why we do this work: to help love stories unfold beautifully, no matter what the challenges or changes around us. As we turn toward the year ahead, I cannot help but feel energized. The future of weddings is bright—and ABC is rising to meet it with renewed vision. From expanded education and designations to the growth of our global community, to the exciting evolution of World of Weddings, Wedding Wednesdays, and our new Trendsetter Awards, we are stepping boldly into a new era. An era where wedding professionals are more empowered, more connected, and more prepared than ever.

Th e Fu t u re of Wedding s Is Social : Here’ s Why P ro s Mu st Lean In Author: Nina Addeo | Owner of I Do Wedding Marketing

For years we heard the warnings: “Social Media is the future.” It is safe to say that future has fully arrived. And it is not going away any time soon! Platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest are no longer optional marketing tools; they are where couples discover vendors, evaluate talent, and build the trust that leads to booked dates. In fact, social media has done more than transform the way couples plan weddings. As a social media marketer and agency owner specifically for Wedding Industry Professionals, I have seen how social media has reshaped the vendor landscape itself. There are now more vendors, more marketing avenues, and more ways to stand out. All the while fighting for the same amount of clients. Success through social media is not just a dream. We’ve seen it happen, and I am sure you have too. In the past 5-6 years, we have watched planners build multi-six-figure brands from a single viral video. Photographers secure destinationwedding inquiries solely from portfolio storytelling on Instagram Reels. Venues fill calendars because their aesthetic performs beautifully on TikTok. And, perhaps most notably, a brand-new vendor category has emerged: wedding content creators, hired specifically to produce real-time, socialfriendly footage for couples who want every moment documented in vertical video for social media clout. Social media is not simply influencing the modern wedding. It is defining it. And for wedding professionals who want to thrive in today’s market,

want to thrive in today’s market, the question is no longer “Should I be on social media?” but “How do I show up with impact?” Below are three practical, highleverage strategies that any wedding pro can implement immediately to strengthen visibility, attract aligned clients, and create content that converts to inquiries. 1. LEVERAGE YOUR VENDOR NETWORK

Wedding pros already know the power of collaboration at an event. But that same collaboration can dramatically expand your reach on social media. Every time you post content that features other vendors—florists, planners, venues, photographers, catering teams, and entertainment professionals—you increase the likelihood of shares, tags, and extended audience reach. The more enticing and recognizable your vendor credits are, the more likely your post is to be circulated beyond your own immediate following.

Why does this work? It is the simple adage of “birds of a feather flock together.” Couples often discover vendors by browsing tagged vendors on posts they love. Additionally, content that highlights multiple vendors tends to perform better because it’s community-oriented. CVndor teams are more likely to reshare highquality posts that feature their work, placing you in front of their audiences as well. You can use this strategy now by posting photos or videos from weddings where the vendor team is strong and engaged on social media. Showing up online is easier when you don’t do it alone. Leaning into your vendor community amplifies your visibility and theirs. 2. SCHEDULE EVERGREEN CONTENT THAT NEVER EXPIRES

One of the biggest myths in social media marketing is that you must constantly post trending content to stay relevant. Trends are helpful, but what sustains your online presence over time is evergreen content. That is content that retains value weeks, months, or even years after you post it. It doesn’t expire and is not time-sensitive. For wedding pros, evergreen content is especially powerful because wedding planning is a cyclical process. Couples search for the same topics year after year: timelines, budgeting tips, venue questions, gown selection, photo inspiration, floral guidance, and more. Evergreen content is vital for a successful strategy, because it means you can schedule in advance, avoiding burnout. Instead

posts, commenting meaningfully, saving content, sharing when relevant, you signal to the platform that your content belongs in that same local, wedding-focused niche.

Here are some evergreen concepts to get you inspired:

By doing this, your posts become more likely to be shown to local couples who follow or engage with those same vendors. Additionally, vendors begin to recognize your brand and are more likely to refer you, reshare your work, or think of you when recommending teams to couples. This is the digital equivalent of networking, and it can help you stand-out on social media fast!

Planning and timeline tips Wedding day recaps Behind-the-scenes videos of your process Frequently asked questions “Before and after” transformations Testimonials and client stories The idea is to create a library of reliable posts that continue working for you, even when you’re deep in event season or taking a break from creating new content. Gather ideas by looking at your most frequently asked questions from couples and turn each into its own post or get ideas from your next few sales calls.

3. FOLLOW AND ENGAGE WITH VENDORS AND BUSINESSES IN YOUR AREA—YOUR ALGORITHM WILL THANK YOU

Here are some tips to use this If Instagram and TikTok are where strategy now: couples go to find vendors, then they are also where vendors go to Create a saved list of local build their professional wedding vendors to check communities. Engaging with local weekly. pros is one of the smartest ways to Engage consistently—not just boost your algorithm, expand your with likes, but with thoughtful reach, and build brand familiarity. comments or saves. Don’t wait for a collaboration to When you consistently interact connect; relationship-building with vendors near you, liking their today creates opportunities posts, commenting meaningfully, tomorrow. saving content, sharing when Follow new vendors you meet at relevant, you signal to the platform weddings, mixers, or industry that your content belongs in that events and stay in touch through same local, wedding-focused niche. stories and posts.

Small, regular actions build longterm visibility and goodwill. Weddings have always been about storytelling. Now that story gets told on social media. It has become the place where couples dream, plan, connect, and celebrate. It is where vendors showcase their craft, articulate their value, and position themselves as experts. And it is the engine behind countless successful wedding businesses, while not discriminating against the newly launched or decades-old. The future of weddings is social. The present is, too. For wedding professionals ready to grow their reach, attract modern couples, and thrive in a competitive landscape, the path forward is clear: show up, share generously, and stay visible. Because the industry isn’t just watching, it’s socializing.

Lo ve i n Shades of Bl ue: A Perfect l y P l anned 14-Day ” I Do ” When the mother of the bride called planner and coordinator C a s ey P i t m a n , P W P , just 14 days before the wedding, she was overwhelmed and needed immediate support. Casey, owner of The Moment By Casey, had never taken on an event with such a tight turnaround—but she knew she could bring the bride’s vision to life. What followed was two weeks of nonstop dedication that resulted in a bright, airy, and luxurious celebration the couple will never forget. Held on June 20, 2025, with 200 guests in attendance, the wedding embraced an elegant palette of white and soft blue tones. Despite the Oklahoma heat climbing to 105 degrees, the outdoor ceremony was breathtaking. Set against a serene pond at sunset, the natural beauty of the venue was enhanced by lush greenery, a wooden cross, and romantic florals. When a rental mishap left 200 chairs unassembled, Casey and her assistant stepped in—setting up every chair by hand and placing fans on each seat to keep guests comfortable. Their dedication ensured the ceremony looked flawless.

every chair by hand and placing fans on each seat to keep guests comfortable. Their dedication ensured the ceremony looked flawless.

Yet despite the tight timeline, unpredictable heat, and long hours, the result was the same: a gorgeous celebration and the beginning of a happily ever after.

The couple themselves were a joy— sweet, genuine, and deeply connected. Though Casey first met them on the wedding day, their warmth and gratitude made the whirlwind process worthwhile. Inside the reception, blue-andwhite ceramics created unique centerpieces at each table, adding a personal, elevated touch. Guests enjoyed a digital audio guestbook recorded through a vintage phone, leaving behind heartfelt voice messages the couple will cherish forever. The biggest challenge was planned in only 14 days—it became a powerful lesson. Casey hopes couples will understand the essential role coordinators play in transforming stress into beauty. Yet despite the tight timeline, unpredictable heat, and long hours, the result was the same: a gorgeous celebration and the beginning of a happily ever after.

Sam and Bryan envisioned a wedding that felt timeless, cinematic, and unmistakably them —and their March 1, 2025 celebration at The Pearle Hotel & Spa in Burlington, Ontario was exactly that. With a palette of black, white, and soft lavender-purple, their day blended modern romance with sleek sophistication, resulting in a celebration that felt like it belonged on film.

Sam was stunning in a minimalist mermaid gown from Promises and Lace, complete with a pearl-dotted veil that floated effortlessly behind her. Pant o ne Co l o r of t h e Year 2026: C l o ud Dancer

A Blank Canvas for the Boldest Wedding Designs of the Decade

For 2026, Pantone has chosen a color that is both timeless and transformational: Cloud Dancer, a soft, airy, elevated shade of white that symbolizes clarity, simplicity, and renewal. Instead, it represents limitless creative potential — a clean slate that invites bold expression, highcontrast design, and new interpretations of wedding color stories. Just as its name suggests, Cloud Dancer is light, ethereal, and quietly powerful. Pantone’s choice of soft white is a reminder that creativity doesn’t always start with color — sometimes it begins with space. Cloud Dancer symbolizes openness, possibility, and reinvention. For wedding planners and designers, it’s a call to push boundaries, embrace color in innovative ways, and create celebrations that feel uniquely personal to each couple you serve. In 2026, white isn’t the absence of color — it’s the invitation to more of it.

It’s a rare color that both classic and avant-garde couples can embrace. How You Can Use Cloud Dancer in 2026 F l o r a l s : W h i t e a s t h e A n c h o r, C o l o r as the Energy

The wedding industry has always mirrored society’s values, and lately, it’s learning a new emotional vocabulary. In 2026 and beyond, couples aren’t askingonly “What will it look like?” but “How will it feel?” Weddings have become emotional ecosystems, where stress, joy, loss, and identity collide. Behind every perfect post lies someone managing anxiety, navigating grief, or trying to meet cultural and family expectations. The planners, vendors, and creatives who thrive in this next era will be those who lead with empathy, transforming logistics into emotional craftsmanship. Below are five defining mentalhealth trends shaping the future of weddings and how emotionally intelligent professionals can respond. 1. THE SOCIAL-MEDIA PRESSURE PARADOX

Social media has turned weddings into curated performances, where validation replaces presence and comparison overshadows joy. Couples scroll for inspiration and find themselves trapped in a cycle of perfectionism, wondering if their celebration will measure up. Vendors aren’t immune either; creative burnout is on the rise as teams chase algorithm-driven aesthetics instead of meaningful artistry.

The shift: Authenticity is the new luxury. Help couples define their why before their aesthetic. Encourage unplugged moments, reflection breaks, and no-phone zones. Build campaigns that highlight real emotions, not staged perfection.

When planners, photographers, or family members dismiss a client as “difficult,” they risk missing what’s really happening: a person in emotional overload, often carrying childhood wounds, perfectionism, or family pressure that has nowhere safe to land.

The brands that vulnerability will be clients trust most.

The shift: Retire the label, recognize the need. Respond with curiosity, not criticism. Ask, “What’s feeling especially hard right now?” or “What support would help you feel grounded again?” When you meet intensity with empathy, you transformtension into trust.

celebrate the ones

2. THE “BRIDEZILLA” MYTH. WHEN OVERWHELM LOOKS LIKE CONTROL

Few labels in this industry carry asmuch judgment as Bridezilla. It’s become shorthand for women who are “too much”, too emotional, too controlling, too demanding. But beneath that label often lies something deeper: fear, grief, or a desperateattempt to stay in control when everything feels uncertain.

Bridezilla isn’t a personality; it’s a pain response. 3. FAMILY DYNAMICS AND THE WEIGHT OF EXPECTATION

Weddings reveal what families hide. Old wounds surface, loyalties collide, and generations try to rewrite history in one weekend. Parents may relive their own unfulfilled dreams through their children, while cultural and religious expectations create emotional tug-of-wars. For many couples, managing family feels more stressfulthan planning the wedding itself. The emotional cost is real: anxiety, guilt, and burnout. The shift: Family mappingis the new logistics mapping.

31

Before booking vendors or venues, help couples explore their family landscape. Ask, “Who needs to feel included?” and “What boundaries will protect your peace?” Understanding emotional power dynamicsallows planners to design with compassion instead of conflict. When families feel heard, and couples feel supported, everyone breathes easier. 4. THE HIDDEN MENTALHEALTH SPECTRUM: ANXIETY, DEPRESSION, AND BURNOUT

Wedding planning amplifies what already exists. For couples already struggling with anxiety or depression, the stress of deadlines, finances, and decisionoverload can deepen symptoms. The same applies to vendors who carry the weight of constant deadlines and client emotions. Post-wedding crashes, panic attacks, and emotional shutdowns are becoming more common and moreopenly discussed. The stigma is fading, but the need for intentional care is growing.

The shift: Wellness is part of the workflow. Add “mental-health moments” into your process: hydration breaks, reflection pauses, and gentle checkins. Offer trauma-informed meeting structures, shorter sessions, clear summaries, and flexible scheduling. Normalize the idea that therapy, rest, and regulation aren’t indulgent; they’re essential to a sustainable wedding experience.

safe, supported, and seen, love unfolds in its truest form, beautifully imperfect and profoundly real.

5. THE RISE OF TRAUMAINFORMED CELEBRATION

Trauma-informed care is the quiet revolution reshaping the eventworld. It’s not therapy, it’s awareness. It’s understanding that everyone brings a story, and that joy can coexist with grief, identity exploration, or healing. The future of weddings will be emotionally intelligent celebrations, spaces where couples can honor both love and loss, where diversity isn’t tokenized, and where inclusivity extends beyond décor to emotional safety. The shift: Design with empathy. Use gentle language (“What feels right?” instead of “You need to decide now”). Offer flexible timelines, sensory-friendly layouts, and calm zones for guestsand vendors alike. Include remembrance traditions for loved ones or quiet gratitude pauses for couples to connect mid-day. Trauma-informed planning doesn’t slow the process; it deepens the meaning. THE FUTURE OF LUXURY IS CARE

The next era of weddings isn’t about spectacle, it’s about soul. Luxury is no longer defined by opulence but by emotional intelligence. The florists who sense a bride’s trembling hands, the photographers who notice when a couple needs a moment, the planners who pause instead of push, these are the architects of the future. Perfection will fade; presence will remain. Because when couples feel safe, supported, and seen, love

Why Weddi ng Insu rance Is Beco mi ng a Def i ni ng Trend f o r 2026 a nd Bey o nd Author: Jodi Sibilia | Senior Partner Relations Specialist at eWed Insurance

The wedding industry is transforming in ways that reflect the priorities of a new generation of couples. Weddings are becoming more intentional, more investmentheavy, and more reliant on thoughtful planning and support. As we move into 2026, one trend stands out as both practical and surprisingly empowering: wedding insurance. What was once an optional extra is becoming an essential part of modern wedding planning. Couples, venues, and planners are recognizing the value of proactive protection, and this shift is repositioning insurance as a core component of the wedding ecosystem. The following insights explore how this trend is shaping celebrations today and why it is expected to remain influential for years to come. COUPLES ARE PLANNING WITH MORE INTENTION AND MORE RISK EXPOSURE

Couples getting married in 2026 are making larger financial commitments earlier in the planning process. They are booking venues earlier, securing vendors earlier, and placing significant deposits far in advance. This means they are more vulnerable to unexpected circumstances that could affect or derail their celebration. Event Cancellation Insurance is on the rise because it protects couples from losing nonrefundable deposits when situations beyond their control occur. Whether it is severe weather, sudden illness, or a vendor emergency, couples want reassurance that they can recover financially. Instead of reacting from fear, they are planning from a place of calm and confidence.

WEDDING PLANNERS ARE ENCOURAGING COUPLES TO PROTECT THEIR DAY

Wedding planners are often the first to recognize how quickly an event can unravel when the unexpected happens. They are also the people couples turn to when something goes wrong, which places planners in a uniquely vulnerable position. By recommending cancellation place of calm and confidence. insurance, also known as loss of deposit insurance, early in the Wedding insurance gives couples planning process, planners protect the ability to safeguard their both their clients and their own investment and protect the professional reputation. emotional experience they have worked so hard to create. Modern insurance platforms now offer quick online purchasing, automatic document delivery to venues, and simple instructions that fit seamlessly into the planning timeline. Because of this evolution, couples view wedding insurance as a practical step rather than an administrative chore. This mindset shift reflects a larger movement toward empowered planning. If couples are investing in their day, they want systems in place that help protect it. REPUTATION MANAGEMENT IS BECOMING ESSENTIAL FOR VENUES AND VENDORS

Online reviews play a major role in building or harming a business. A single unexpected cancellation or financial dispute can influence future bookings for both venues and vendors. Wedding insurance protects relationships and reputations by ensuring that: Couples can be reimbursed for lost deposits Venues can maintain fair policies without creating conflict Wedding Planners are not blamed for circumstances outside their control When things go wrong, insurance helps everyone recover with grace. This is why more venues are recommending or requiring both liability and cancellation coverage. Reputation management is no longer just a marketing strategy. It is a protective measure built into the planning process itself. PLANNING IS BECOMING MORE EMOTIONALLY CENTERED AND EXPERIENCEFOCUSED

The heart of the modern wedding movement is ease. Couples want emotional support throughout their planning journey. Venues want smooth, predictable operations. Planners want fewer last-minute emergencies.

Wedding insurance supports this entire ecosystem by reducing stress for everyone involved. For couples, insurance offers reassurance that their planning is protected. For venues, it eliminates time-consuming document chasing. For planners, it creates a safety net that allows them to focus on the experience rather than potential crises. This trend toward emotional grounding in the planning process is one of the reasons wedding insurance is becoming such a welcomed resource. It strengthens the relationships between couples and the professionals who support them. TECHNOLOGY IS MODERNIZING THE PROCESS AND EXPANDING ACCESSIBILITY

One of the most influential drivers behind this trend is technology. Modern insurance platforms have transformed what used to be a complicated purchase into a fast, accurate, and user-friendly experience.

from a shared foundation of clarity and protection. The future of weddings is confident, informed, and protected. Wedding insurance has become a powerful part of that evolution, offering couples and professionals the ability to plan boldly and celebrate fully. CHOOSING A RELIABLE AND TRUSTWORTHY PROVIDER

As awareness grows, so does the importance of selecting an insurance provider that is reputable, easy to work with, and clear about its coverage. Couples and venues should look for policies that are simple to understand, transparent about what is and is not covered, and supported by responsive customer service. A trustworthy provider should offer accessible guidance, reliable claims handling, and tools that make the process smooth for both the renter and the venue. When couples choose well, they gain more than a policy. They gain confidence, peace of mind, and the security to enjoy their day without hesitation.

Features on the rise include: Automatic population of venue details on insurance documents Instant delivery of certificates to venues Dashboards where venues can view all policies linked to their events Streamlined online purchase flows As these tools become more widely used, insurance is evolving from a ABOUT THE AUTHOR niche product into an integrated part of the wedding planning Jodi Sibilia is the Senior Partner process. Bu i l di ng Co nf i dence, Co mmuni t y, and Career s Inside the Success of the ABC Mentorship Program

The wedding industry is built on experience, relationships, and knowledge passed from one professional to another. In 2025, ABC took that belief one step further with the launch of its ABC Mentorship Program — a focused, hands-on initiative designed to help Registered and Professional Wedding Planners gain clarity, confidence, and real-world business skills. Over the course of four months, this pilot mentorship program exceeded expectations, delivering meaningful growth for mentees while strengthening community and leadership among ABC’s most seasoned professionals. A PROGRAM DESIGNED FOR REAL GROWTH

MEET THE MENTORS

This successful first cohort was guided by three accomplished Master Wedding Planners who generously shared their expertise, experience, and time: Tammy Waterman, MWP Tia Robinson, MWP Colleen Bauer, MWP Shelby Tuck-Horton, (Program Oversight)

MWP

Their leadership created an environment of trust, accountability, and encouragement — allowing mentees to ask real questions, address challenges, and gain confidence in their professional decision-making.

MEET THE MENTEES

The inaugural mentorship cohort included a dedicated group of planners committed to growth and professional development: Chaneyll Anderson, RWP Carmona Bessee, RWP Glinda Corbin, RWP Kimberly Martin, RWP Corliss McCain-Rouse, PWP Yolanda Sinclair, PWP Cassanda White, PWP

The ABC Mentorship Program was intentionally structured to provide more than surface-level advice. Participants were immersed in a guided learning experience that combined one-on-one mentorship, exposure to multiple planning styles, and practical business education. Each mentee worked with three different mentors over three months, gaining diverse perspectives on business operations, client management, workflows, and planning philosophy. Weekly one-hour mentorship sessions allowed for deep conversations, honest feedback, and personalized guidance. The fourth week of each month was dedicated to implementation — giving mentees time to apply what they learned before transitioning to their next mentor.

Throughout the program, mentees strengthened their business foundations, refined their service offerings, improved workflows, contracts, and client communication. Many also reported increased confidence in positioning themselves as professionals within their local markets. WHY THE PROGRAM WAS SO SUCCESSFUL

What set the ABC Mentorship Program apart was its intentional design:

Rather than offering generic advice, mentors met planners where they were — helping them build businesses that aligned with their goals, experience level, and market. LOOKING AHEAD: THE NEXT ABC MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

Due to the success of the inaugural cohort, ABC will continue offering the Mentorship Program with limited enrollment to ensure quality, connection, and impact. Each session accepts only ten participants, allowing for meaningful mentor relationships and individualized attention. They must commit to the entire 3-month program. The next program will continue to support Registered and Certified Wedding Planners who are: Ready to elevate their business Committed to professional growth Willing to implement feedback and complete assignments Seeking clarity, confidence, and community Enrollment is open, with a waitlist available for interested members.
