With the new season getting underway at Hamilton Park on Sunday 4 May, we are pleased to be able to share our plans for prize money and our commitment to Owners, Trainers and racing staff for the 2025 season, where we will be offering record prize money across less fixtures.
As we look to build on the successes of last year, we have planned the richest race programme ever at Hamilton Park, with total prize money set to exceed £1.64M across 18 fixtures, having deferred a fixture to ensure that all bar one of our racedays are scheduled as seven race cards.
At a time where we are all facing challenges through increased costs, Hamilton Park remain committed to offering a progressive, aspirational fixture list with nearly 50% of our races scheduled to be run at Class 4 or above in 2025.
This year’s programme continues to see investment in prize money at all levels, with a focus on increased rewards in our Class 3 and Class 4 races, whilst every fixture is due to be run for at least 26% above BHA minimum values as part of an overall programme that is 53% above those same values.
We are delighted to once again play host to the Sky Bet Sunday Series which moves to Sunday 15 June. The focus for this year’s series has returned to its previous position of offering high value opportunities for horses running in Class 3 or Class 4 races, with a total prize fund of £215,550. Elsewhere in the programme we have increased the prize money for the British EBF Glasgow Listed stakes, won in 2024 by Kalpana, by 10% to £55,000, whilst the historic Lanark Silver Bell Heritage Handicap remains our richest race of the season at £100,000.

All races will continue to be run for at least £2,000 above the minimum values* set by the BHA, resulting in all races being run for no less than £7,000 and nearly half of the programme being run for £10,000 or more.
Myself, Fiona and the whole team are fully committed to delivering the very best experience possible for all of our visiting Owners and Trainers and we look forward to welcoming you and your runners to Hamilton Park this summer.

Record prize money of over £1.64 million including FOUR racedays worth £108k or more

MORE prize money, less fixtures – Hamilton Park’s richest season ever! With total prize money expected to exceed £1.64M, 2025 is set to be the richest season yet at Hamilton Park, with a reduction to 18 fixtures having deferred our early July fixture to ensure we are able to programme seven races at all bar one of our racedays. We have once again teamed up with Darley and the British EBF to run two, high value development races worth £40,000 each, and we have also increased prize money for the British EBF Glasgow Listed stakes by 10% to £55,000. Our own 2-Y-O Series final in September has also received a significant uplift in prize money and will now be run for £30,000, an increase of 50% on last year.
Total prize money set at 53% above BHA minimum values. Hamilton Park are committed to investing into prize money to further develop the quality of our race programme, and as such we continually strive to exceed minimum values set by the BHA. The 2025 race programme will be run at 53% above the required minimum values, with individual fixtures being run for at least 26% above those levels, rising to 159% for our Sunday Series fixture on Sunday 15 June. We have implemented prize money increases across much of the programme, with our Class 4 races set to be run for no less than £10,000, whilst our Class 3 programme offers prize money ranging from £22,000 to £35,000.
£215k+ Sky Bet Sunday Series returns in June.
With a £215,550 prize fund, our Sky Bet Sunday Series Raceday returns on Sunday 15 June and will be broadcast live on STV and ITV Racing. Featuring a card full of Class 3 and Class 4 races worth £35,000 and £30,000 respectively, we’re sure to attract strong, competitive fields for an evening of fantastic racing.
Recognition for Owners with multiple runners and our seasonal Champions.
The race to become Champion Owner at Hamilton Park is always hotly contested, with the 2024 title being claimed by Summerstorm Bloodstock. As is tradition, Summerstorm Bloodstock’s colours will be flown above the grandstand for the coming season and, along with our Champion Trainer Jim Goldie and Champion Jockey Andrew Mullen, they will also enjoy a designated parking space for each fixture.
Remember, Owners who average a runner or more at each fixture across the season will receive a complimentary membership to Hamilton Park for the following season, in recognition of their support. This exclusive annual badge will give access for two to any Hamilton Park fixture, regardless of whether they have a runner that day.
