April 23, 2014 Brothers of AlphaEast – Welcome to Baltimore – Charm City! Your presence at our 82nd Eastern Region Convention will and has made a difference in the lives of your Brothers and the city of Baltimore. As we begin this week’s activities AlphaEast remains “First of All, Leading the Way.” We are the first region to have fully implemented our newly revised membership intake process. AlphaEast leads the way in chapter compliance with over 90% of our chapters having met full compliance – keep in mind this number includes at least 10 chapters with “0” members…do the math and we move to 97.6% compliant! AlphaEast, “First of All, Leading the Way.” This year's convention experience will is slated to be just as trendsetting. With over 900 Brothers from each of our seven districts registered – to include registrants from Bermuda, Germany, Liberia and the United Kingdom – the regional leadership team takes pride in setting a standard of providing quality convention programming to maximize each Brother’s convention experience. This year’s theme this year is “Reconciling Leadership & Brotherhood.” The intent is to provide opportunities for each attendee to reconcile within themselves that Brotherhood does not have to be sacrificed for the sake of leadership and vice versa. In this august body of erudite men there are innumerable examples of men blazing pathways of success and serving as role models for the next generation. Be certain to participate in our “Life, Leadership & Brotherhood” workshop series intended to bring about discussions on best practices we can take back to our chapters and communities. Moreover, be certain to take the time to extend your circle of Brotherhood and fellowship with Brothers you’ve not met before this convention or strengthen the relationship with one you’ve seen or known of for years. Our collective accomplishments should make us all proud to not only be members of the quintessential Black Greek-lettered Organization, but to reside in the region that started it all – AlphaEast, “First of All, Leading the Way.” Thank you for your service to the Brotherhood and greater community.
