RADETZKY
by Johann Strauss, Sr.
arranged by Aaron Noë
Each year Austrians ring in the new year with a performance
of Johann Strauss' Radetzky. Composed in 1848 and
dedicated to the military commander Joseph Radetzky von
Radetz, this march became popular among the Austrian
military. This arrangement includes the snare drum
introduction synonymous with the traditional playing of this
march, as well as, the original grace notes in the woodwinds.
The trio features a trumpet solo.
This concert march is great way to introduce your students to
music of the Romantic Period. This march serves well in
concert or contest.
