HISTORY OF SITE SHIPYARD (NOW & FUTURE)

SHIPBUILDING CONSTRUCTION

The Shipyard land of 26.5 Acres plot, for shipbuilding, repairing & servicing under Boustead bhd. This land will only be sold out in 2017, according to State government, the land will only be sold for Shipbuilding purposed only (according to the government)

HISTORY OF SITE (REMAINING HISTORICAL REMNANTS)

The only remnant left was the Old Roman Catholic Church Chapel which opened on 4th Tan 1896. The chapel possibly was the oldest surviving building on the island. There are also few unknown cemetery statue standing along the hiking trail at hilltop. A Hindu Shrine is also standing in the high hill area (probably for dockyard workers)
