The AA Landscape Urbanism programme set a 2019-2020 agenda to apply the Green New Deal in UK. This project developed the possibility of a forestry transition and expansion in UK.
Forest N is a project by Qiuxi Li, Chengnran Luo & Yufei Dong that considers forest as multidimensional including production, biodiversity, carbon sink, etc. However all of them emphasize benefits towards humans. This project integrates the concept of Wood Wide Web to give us an understanding of the forest from a natural dimension. The project aims to create reciprocal attitudes towards forest using the AA Hooke Park as a site.
This reciprocal understanding is explored not only as a mental and conceptual framework to change mentalities but also from the perspective of land/forestry policies and economic grants systems with the capacity to translate this approach into a wider practice in the UK. By doing this, we aim to shape land policies in UK and offer alternatives to forest management at the AA Hooke park.
