From individual product performance and stock turn to regional trends and inventory levels, our purchasing team continually and refines stock profiles. This helps improve availability, reduce missed sales and ensure each branch is stocked with customers need most
Stock on Hand vs. Stock Turn
Shows stock on hand against stock turn. This data can be filtered by product group or individual part number, helping us build the ideal regional and branch level.
Inventory Performance
This report provides a detailed view of inventory performance, including stock on hand, SKU count, stock value, excess stock, stock turn (DOI). It helps identify brand performance, regional buying trends and products that should be removed to create space for more relevant

Provides a regional view of stock holding against current stock turn. The data can then be drilled down to individual branch level for more detailed analysis.

This report analyses performance by product category. In this example, Braking holds £101.9k of stock with a current stock turn of 4.2. Our target stock turn is between 4.5 and 7.0 across the majority of product groups. Higher-turning categories can support a greater SKU count, helping branches offer broader product availability while maintaining healthy stock levels. and Days of Inventory

We would like to inform you of an upcoming change to the supply route for Valvoline products.
From 3:00pm on Friday 24th July, these product lines will be supplied from our Rotherham National Distribution Centre (NDC) rather than centrally from Luton.

Turbo Fit and BTN Turbos — feed pipes where essential for replacement — will be stocked at the RDC soon.
WHY OUR STOCK PROCESSES MATTER
4-Year Provision
What stock are we targeting?
This refers to stock that hasn’t sold or moved in your branch for more than four years. Our aim is to review all 250+ branches by the end of the year.
What
is
the process?
Your Branch Manager will receive a list of affected parts together with full instructions. The process involves identifying the stock, separating cardboard and metal where required, palletising the goods and arranging collection using the courier details provided.
How does this benefit the branch?
Removing obsolete stock creates valuable space for current product lines and makes annual stocktakes quicker, cleaner and more accurate.
Stocktaking
Why is stocktaking important?
Accurate stock records are essential. Nothing is more frustrating than selling a part only to discover it can’t be located. Maintaining accurate inventory improves customer service and helps branches operate more efficiently.
Keep locations accurate
Ensuring products are stored in the correct location is just as important as maintaining accurate stock levels. Keeping location information up to date helps improve picking accuracy and branch efficiency.
Remember
Always count from the shelf to the stock sheet.
Any unexpected stock found during the count should be placed on the floor and investigated once the current location has been completed.

VELOCITY RETURNS PROCESS
Why do we do this?
This process helps control overstocks created by customer returns, cancelled orders and other surplus stock. It identifies items that fall within our suppliers’ approved returns window, allowing branches to return eligible stock efficiently.
Why is this important?
Managing Velocity Returns helps keep stock levels under control, frees up valuable shelf space and supports the introduction of new product ranges across the branch.
What happens if we don’t?
Velocity Returns are measured through branch KPIs, so it’s important to stay on top of the process. Work closely with your RDC and return stock in batches of up to 10 units to keep the process flowing smoothly.
Large return batches may be rejected by the RDC.

Orders placed by a Product Manager or Stock Controller will have an operator ID beginning with “Z”.
Please do not delete these orders from the system unless you have received prior approval.
